The present invention further provides pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds and methods of using such compounds for treating, preventing, inhibiting, ameliorating, or eradicating the pathology and/or symptomology of a disease caused by a parasite, such as leishmaniasis, human African trypanosomiasis and Chagas disease.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
We claim:

1 . A method for treating human African trypanosomiasis, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of N-(4-fluoro-3-(6-(3-methylpyridin-2-yl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-2-yl)phenyl)-2,4-dimethyloxazole-5-carboxamide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and optionally in combination with a second agent.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said second agent is pentamidine, suramin, melarsoprol, eflornithine, nifurtimox or a combination thereof.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said second agent is pentamidine.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said second agent is suramin.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said second agent is melarsoprol.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said second agent is eflornithine.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said second agent is nifurtimox.
