Siding clip

Abstract

A siding clip may include at least one tab having a tab through hole, a base having at least one base through hole, and a side portion affixed to an edge of the at least one tab at a first side portion end and to an edge of the base at a second side portion end, thereby forming a gap between the at least one tab and the base. The tab through hole is disposed opposite to one of the at least one base through holes. The siding clip further includes at least one coupling flange having a plane parallel to a plane of the at least one tab, and having at least one insertion feature. The at least one coupling flange is disposed in a direction opposite to a direction of the at least one tab.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A siding clip comprising:
 a plurality of co-planar tabs, wherein each of the plurality of co-planar tabs comprises a tab through hole;   a base comprising a plurality of base through holes;   a side portion affixed to an edge of each of the plurality of co-planar tabs at a first side portion end and to an edge of the base at a second side portion end, thereby forming a gap between the plurality of co-planar tabs and the base, wherein each of the plurality of tab through holes is disposed opposite to one of the plurality of base through holes; and   a plurality of coupling flanges wherein each of the plurality of coupling flanges comprises at least one insertion feature,   wherein each of the plurality of coupling flanges is disposed in a direction opposite to a direction of the plurality of co-planar tabs.   
     
     
         2 . The siding clip of  claim 1 , wherein a number of the tab through holes is equal to a number of the base through holes. 
     
     
         3 . The siding clip of  claim 2 , wherein the base comprises a plurality of separated co-planar base sections,
 wherein each of the plurality of separated co-planar base sections comprises one of the plurality of base through holes,   wherein the second side portion end is affixed to an edge of each of the separated co-planar base sections, and   wherein the gap is formed between the plurality of co-planar tabs and the plurality of separated co-planar base sections.   
     
     
         4 . The siding clip of  claim 1 , wherein a first tab of the plurality of co-planar tabs is disposed proximate to a first lateral end of the siding clip and a second tab of the plurality of co-planar tabs is disposed proximate to a second lateral end of the siding clip. 
     
     
         5 . The siding clip of  claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of tab through holes is disposed opposite one of the plurality of base through holes. 
     
     
         6 . The siding clip of  claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of coupling flange comprises a first bidentate insertion feature and a second bidentate insertion feature. 
     
     
         7 . The siding clip of  claim 1 , wherein the gap is configured to receive an edge of a siding portion between one or more of the plurality of co-planar tabs and the base. 
     
     
         8 . The siding clip of  claim 7 , wherein the gap is further configured to receive an edge of a second siding portion between an additional one or more of the plurality of co-planar tabs and the base. 
     
     
         9 . The siding clip of  claim 1 , wherein one or more of the plurality of coupling flanges is configured to be received by an edge groove of a third siding portion. 
     
     
         10 . The siding clip of  claim 9 , wherein an additional one or more of the plurality of couplings flanges is configured to be received by an edge groove of a fourth siding portion. 
     
     
         11 . The siding clip of  claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of coupling flanges comprises a plane parallel to a plane of the plurality of co-planar tabs.
