Storage case for musical accessories

Abstract

A storage case for musical accessories includes a compartment comprising a sidewall and a bottom wall, the sidewall defining a top end and a bottom end, the bottom wall coupled to the bottom end of the sidewall, the top end of the sidewall defining a compartment opening; and a substantially cylindrical accessory mount extending from the bottom wall towards the opening, the accessory mount extending substantially parallel to the sidewall, the accessory mount configured to receive a cylindrical musical accessory placed over and around the accessory mount.

That which is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A storage case for musical accessories, the storage case comprising:
 a compartment comprising a sidewall and a bottom wall, the sidewall defining a top end and a bottom end, the bottom wall coupled to the bottom end of the sidewall, the top end of the sidewall defining a compartment opening; and   a substantially cylindrical accessory mount extending from the bottom wall towards the opening, the accessory mount extending substantially parallel to the sidewall, the accessory mount configured to receive a cylindrical musical accessory placed over and around the accessory mount.   
     
     
         2 . The storage case of  claim 1 , wherein the substantially cylindrical accessory mount is segmented lengthwise. 
     
     
         3 . The storage case of  claim 1 , wherein the bottom wall defines an elevated base, the substantially cylindrical accessory mount supported on the elevated base. 
     
     
         4 . The storage case of  claim 1 , further comprising a lid configured to selectively cover the compartment opening. 
     
     
         5 . The storage case of  claim 4 , wherein the lid defines an orifice aligned with the substantially cylindrical accessory mount and configured to receive the cylindrical musical accessory therethrough. 
     
     
         6 . The storage case of  claim 1 , wherein the substantially cylindrical accessory mount is oriented proximate to the sidewall. 
     
     
         7 . The storage case of  claim 1 , wherein the bottom wall of the compartment defines a bottom surface comprising a non-slip material. 
     
     
         8 . A storage case for musical accessories, the storage case comprising:
 a compartment comprising a sidewall and a bottom wall, the sidewall defining a top end and a bottom end, the bottom wall coupled to the bottom end of the sidewall, the top end of the sidewall defining a compartment opening;   a lid coupled to the compartment and defining a slot therethrough, the lid configured to cover the compartment opening, the slot allowing access to an interior of the compartment; and   an accessory tray disposed within the compartment and aligned with the slot, wherein the slot is configured to receive a musical accessory therethrough and the accessory tray is configured to support the musical accessory thereon.   
     
     
         9 . The storage case of  claim 8 , wherein the lid defines a protuberance extending away from the compartment and substantially surrounding the slot. 
     
     
         10 . The storage case of  claim 9 , wherein a least a portion of the lid surrounding the slot defines a non-slip surface. 
     
     
         11 . The storage case of  claim 8 , wherein the accessory tray is mounted on the sidewall above the bottom wall. 
     
     
         12 . The storage case of  claim 11 , wherein the accessory tray defines an accessory support surface, a sidewall extending from the accessory support surface, and a mounting frame extending from the sidewall distal to the accessory support surface. 
     
     
         13 . The storage case of  claim 12 , wherein:
 the sidewall defines a recess formed at the compartment opening; and   the mounting frame of the accessory tray is removably supported on the recess.   
     
     
         14 . A storage case for musical accessories, the storage case comprising:
 a first compartment comprising a sidewall and a bottom wall, the sidewall defining a first opening at a top end thereof, the top end distal to the bottom wall; and   a mounting groove extending along at least a portion of the first compartment at the top end, the mounting groove defining a width and a depth configured to removably support an electronic device such that a screen of the electronic device is viewable by a user when disposed within the mounting groove.   
     
     
         15 . The storage case of  claim 14 , further comprising a first lid configured to cover the first opening. 
     
     
         16 . The storage case of  claim 14 , further comprising a second compartment oriented adjacent to the first compartment and defining a second opening at a top end thereof. 
     
     
         17 . The storage case of  claim 16 , wherein a divider wall is formed between the first compartment and the second compartment, the divider wall defining the mounting groove. 
     
     
         18 . The storage case of  claim 16 , further comprising a second lid configured to cover the second opening. 
     
     
         19 . The storage case of  claim 14 , wherein the bottom wall of the first compartment defines a bottom surface comprising a non-slip material. 
     
     
         20 . A storage case for musical accessories, the storage case comprising:
 a compartment comprising a sidewall and a bottom wall, the sidewall defining a top end and a bottom end, the bottom wall coupled to the bottom end of the sidewall, the top end of the sidewall defining a compartment opening;   a lid coupled to the compartment and configured to cover the compartment opening; and   a sectioning wall extending from a first side of the sidewall to a second side of the sidewall, the sectioning wall sectioning the compartment into a plurality of alcoves, at least one of the alcoves sized to receive a package of guitar strings therein.   
     
     
         21 . The storage case of  claim 20 , wherein the alcove sized to receive a package of guitar strings is substantially square-shaped. 
     
     
         22 . The storage case of  claim 20 , wherein the sectioning wall defines a notch formed at a top end thereof, the top end of the sectioning wall distal to the bottom wall, the notch sized and shaped to receive a finger therethrough. 
     
     
         23 . The storage case of  claim 20 , wherein:
 the sectioning wall is a first sectioning wall;   the storage case further comprises a second sectioning wall parallel to the first sectioning wall; and   each of the first and second sectioning walls at least partially define the alcove sized to receive a package of guitar strings therein.   
     
     
         24 . The storage case of  claim 20 , wherein the lid is hingedly coupled to the compartment and is pivotable between an open position and a closed position. 
     
     
         25 . A storage case for musical accessories, the storage case comprising:
 a first compartment comprising a bottom wall and a sidewall extending from the bottom wall, the sidewall defining a first opening at a top end thereof, the top end oriented distal to the bottom wall, a first magnet attached to the sidewall at the top end; and   a first lid hingedly coupled to the first compartment and configured to selectively cover the first opening, the first lid comprising a first mating magnet configured to mate with the first magnet to releasably couple the first lid to the sidewall of the first compartment in a closed position.   
     
     
         26 . The storage case of  claim 25 , further comprising a second compartment oriented adjacent to the first compartment and defining a sidewall, the sidewall defining a second opening at a top end thereof. 
     
     
         27 . The storage case of  claim 26 , further comprising a second lid hingedly coupled to the second compartment and configured to cover the second opening, wherein a second magnet is attached to the sidewall at the top end, and wherein the second lid comprises a second mating magnet configured to mate with the second magnet to releasably couple the second lid to the sidewall of the second compartment in a closed position. 
     
     
         28 . The storage case of  claim 26 , wherein the first compartment is connected to the second compartment by a planar divider wall disposed therebetween. 
     
     
         29 . The storage case of  claim 25 , further comprising at least one of an accessory tray and an accessory mount disposed within the compartment and configured to receive a musical accessory thereon. 
     
     
         30 . The storage case of  claim 25 , further comprising a sectioning wall extending from a first side of the sidewall to a second side of the sidewall, the sectioning wall sectioning the compartment into a plurality of alcoves. 
     
     
         30 . The storage case of  claim 25 , wherein the bottom wall of the first compartment defines a bottom surface comprising a non-slip material. 
     
     
         31 . A storage case for musical accessories, the storage case comprising:
 a compartment comprising a sidewall and a bottom wall, the sidewall defining a top end and a bottom end, the bottom wall coupled to the bottom end of the sidewall, the top end of the sidewall defining a compartment opening; and   a lid coupled to the compartment and configured to cover the compartment opening;   wherein the sidewall defines a substantially arcuate portion and a substantially planar portion, and wherein a peripheral edge of the lid defines a substantially arcuate portion and a substantially planar portion.   
     
     
         32 . The storage case of  claim 31 , wherein the substantially planar portion of lid is coupled to the substantially planar portion of the sidewall. 
     
     
         33 . The storage case of  claim 32 , wherein the wherein the substantially planar portion of lid is hingedly coupled to the substantially planar portion of the sidewall, the lid pivotable between an open position and a closed position. 
     
     
         34 . The storage case of  claim 31 , further comprising at least one of an accessory tray and an accessory mount disposed within the compartment and configured to receive a musical accessory thereon. 
     
     
         35 . The storage case of  claim 31 , further comprising a sectioning wall extending from a first side of the sidewall to a second side of the sidewall, the sectioning wall sectioning the compartment into a plurality of alcoves, the sectioning wall intersecting the substantially planar portion of the sidewall. 
     
     
         36 . The storage case of  claim 31 , wherein the sidewall defines an outer surface, the outer surface defines the substantially arcuate portion and the substantially planar portion of the sidewall, and each of the substantially arcuate portion and the substantially planar portion extends substantially from the top end of the sidewall to the bottom end of the sidewall. 
     
     
         37 . The storage case of  claim 31 , wherein the bottom wall of the compartment defines a bottom surface comprising a non-slip material. 
     
     
         38 . A storage case for musical accessories, the storage case comprising:
 a compartment comprising a sidewall and a bottom wall, the sidewall defining a top end and a bottom end, the bottom wall coupled to the bottom end of the sidewall, the top end of the sidewall defining a compartment opening; and   a mounting block extending from the bottom wall towards the opening, the mounting block defining a top surface distal to the bottom wall and a substantially cylindrical recess extending into the mounting block at the top surface, the recess configured to receive a substantially cylindrical musical accessory therein.   
     
     
         39 . The storage case of  claim 38 , wherein the mounting block is monolithically formed with the sidewall. 
     
     
         40 . The storage case of  claim 38 , further comprising a lid coupled to the compartment and configured to cover the compartment opening, wherein the mounting block defines a top surface, and wherein the top surface is substantially flush with the lid when the lid is in a closed position.
