Abstract

The invention presents a harness assembly for lifting and supporting an animal in mobility. The assembly comprises a front and rear harness sections releasably attached by a lifting leash. Both the front and rear harness sections can be used independently. Both the front and rear harness sections are comprised of upper and lower sections releasably attached to one another. The rear harness section lifts the animal from both the hips and waist resulting in less stress than other devices.

         12 . A harness assembly comprising:
 a front harness;   a rear harness having an upper waist band section and a lower waist band section coupled to the upper waist band section, a first hind leg strap having a first end coupled to the upper waist band section and a second end coupled to the upper waist band section, and a second hind leg strap having a first end coupled to the upper waist band section and a second end removably and rotatably coupled to the upper waist band section, and   a lifting leash coupling the front harness to the rear harness.

The harness assembly of claim  1  wherein the second hind leg strap is removably and rotatably coupled to the upper waist band section through a coupler having a first portion with an anchor post and a second portion having a receiving opening releasably receiving the anchor post. 
     
     
         14 . The harness assembly of claim  2  wherein the coupler is movable relative to the upper waist band section.
