Abstract
A pre-molded or moldable shaft grip includes a pre-configured or moldable section disposed within a substantially circular outer grip layer. A pre-configured or moldable section substantially conforms to a player's grip, facilitating consistent finger placement. The pre-configured section may comprise the shaft, a separate section, or multiple sections of varying durometer. The moldable section may include a layer of moldable material, or a cavity disposed between the outer grip layer and the shaft containing a moldable substance. Overall grip durometer can be adjusted by varying the pressure within the cavity.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed:
1 . A method of guiding a player's hand to a consisting gripping position on a golf club, comprising:
providing a golf club grip comprising a first material and a second material, the first material having a higher durometer than the second material; wherein the second material is configured to
i. provide concave finger impressions in the grip when gripped by a player, and
ii. return to and maintain a substantially circular cross-section when released from being gripped by the player; and
wherein a cross-section of at least a portion of the golf club grip includes both the first material and the second material; and instructing the player to grip a golf club comprising the golf club grip, with the first material guiding the player's fingers to a consistent gripping position.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second material comprises rubber.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first material comprises rubber.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein grip comprises one or more protrusions of the first material.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the grip further comprises a friction-enhancing outer layer.Cited by (0)
