Abstract

The subject application is directed to a food processing device to extract juice. The device includes an inlet coupled to a disintegrator. The inlet is configured to accept food items and the disintegrator configured to disintegrate food items passed through the inlet. The device further includes a separator that accepts the disintegrated food items and separates out the liquid components from the food item. The device further includes a reservoir that is coupled to the separator for accepting and holding the liquid components. The reservoir includes a translucent member for viewing of liquid levels within the reservoir, and a valved outlet. The valved outlet is configured to allow or prevent the flow of liquid from the reservoir through the valved outlet.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A device to separate comestibles into constituent components, comprising:
a housing, including an inlet leading to a power rotated shredder, the power rotated shredder configured to shred comestibles, delivered through the inlet, into constituent components, a power rotated sieve configured to receive constituent components from the shredder, so as to allow a first portion of the constituent components to pass through the power rotated sieve into a reservoir, an outlet configured to empty the first portion of constituent components from the reservoir, a movable blocker configured to move from a first stationary position, where the movable blocker blocks the outlet and prevents the first portion of constituent components from leaving the reservoir, to a second stationary position, where the movable blocker does not block the outlet and thus allows the first portion of constituent components to exit the reservoir, an engaging member coupled to the movable blocker, and the engaging member configured to engage an upper rim of a vessel receiving the first portion of constituent components from the reservoir to allow the vessel to move the movable blocker from the first position to the second position, and to move the movable blocker from the second position to the first position.

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the movable blocker is configured to slide in a linear track when moving from the first position to the second position.

3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the movable blocker is configured to rotate about an axis when moving from the first position to the second position.

4 . A device to separate comestibles into constituent components, comprising:
a housing, including an inlet leading to a power rotated shredder, the power rotated shredder configured to deliver shredding comestibles, delivered through the inlet, into constituent components, a first power rotated sieve configured to receive constituent components from the shredder, and allow a first portion of the constituent components to pass through the first power rotated sieve into a reservoir, a second power rotated sieve, interchangeable with the first power rotated sieve, the second power rotated sieve, when replacing the first power rotated sieve, configured to receive constituent components from the shredder element, and allow a second portion of constituent components to pass through the second power rotated sieve into the reservoir, the second portion of constituent components including suspended particles, and, suspended particles in the first portion of constituent components when present, the suspended particles contained in the second portion of constituent components being larger than the suspended particles contained in the first portion of constituent components.

5 . The device of claim 4 , wherein both the first power rotated sieve and the second power rotated sieve are frustum in form.

6 . The device of claim 4 , wherein the second power rotated sieve is configured to be manually exchanged with the first power rotated sieve, without use of tools.

7 . A device to separate comestibles into constituent components, comprising:
a housing, including an inlet leading to a power rotated shredder, the power rotated shredder configured to shred comestibles delivered through the inlet, into constituent components, a rotating sieve configured to receive constituent components from the shredder, and allow a first portion of the constituent components to pass through the rotating sieve and into a reservoir, an insert configured to be inserted into the inlet restrict a size of objects which can pass through the inlet, the housing including a switch configured to detect when the insert is disposed in the inlet, and when the switch detects the insert disposed in the inlet, the switch being configured to, upon detection of the insert, enable power rotated shredder, the switch being further configured, upon no detection of the insert, to disable power to the power rotated shredder.

8 . The device of claim 7 , wherein the insert comprises an opening which accepts a piston configured to travel through the opening to the piston configured to urge comestibles through the opening.

9 . The device of claim 8 , wherein, when the piston is disposed within the opening of the insert, and wherein the insert, including the piston, is configured to push foods against the power rotated shredder.

10 . A device to separate comestibles into constituent components, comprising:
a housing, including an inlet leading to a power rotated shredder, the power rotated shredder configured to shred comestibles delivered through the inlet, into constituent components, a power rotated sieve configured to receive constituent components from the shredder, and allowing a first portion of the constituent components to pass through the power rotated sieve into a reservoir, an outlet, configured to empty the first portion of constituent components from the reservoir, a pliable blocker, bridging the inlet, and configured to flex out of the way of receiving comestibles passing through the inlet to the power rotated shredder, the pliable blocker configured to flex back to bridge the inlet, before and after comestibles pass through the pliable blocker, wherein the pliable blocker assists to prevent pieces of comestibles shredded by the power rotated shredder, from ricocheting off the power rotated shredder as projectiles.

11 . A device to separate comestibles into constituent components, comprising:
a housing, including an inlet leading to a power rotated shredder, the power rotated shredder configured to shred comestibles delivered through the inlet, into constituent components, a power rotated sieve configured to receive constituent components from the shredder, and allow a first portion of the constituent components to pass through the power rotated sieve into a reservoir, an outlet, configured to empty the first portion of constituent components from the reservoir, an elevating member, configured to rest on a supporting horizontal surface, the elevating member, further configured to mount the housing at a first distance above a supporting horizontal surface, the elevating member, further configured to mount the housing at a second distance above the supporting horizontal surface, wherein the second distance is greater than the first distance.

12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the elevating member comprises a perimeter sidewall, which circumnavigates the housing when the elevating member is mounting the housing in the first position.
