Cross compatible anchor plate adapter for chimneys

Abstract

The present disclosure envisages an anchor plate adapter. The anchor plate adapter comprises two or more type of locking interfaces to facilitate mounting of different chimneys. One or more first locking interfaces is configured on the adapter, wherein the first locking interface is configured as opposing holes on an inner wall and an outer wall. The chimney is securely mounted on and locked by means of one or more fasteners. Additionally, one or more second locking interfaces are configured in form of protrusions extending outward from the outer wall. The second locking interface engages with the inner protruding member configured on an abutting surface of the outer tube when the adapter is oriented in a position within a female interface of the chimney, and the female interface is rotated with respect to the adapter.

1 . An anchor plate adapter comprising:
 an outer circumferential wall;   a plurality of first locking interfaces on the outer circumferential wall; and   a plurality of second locking interfaces on the outer circumferential wall, the plurality of second locking interfaces being evenly spaced around the circumference of the outer circumferential wall, the plurality of second locking interfaces spaced from the plurality of first locking interfaces,   wherein the first locking interfaces and the second locking interface employ different locking arrangements,   and one of the first locking interface and the second locking interface is utilized to securely mount a chimney on the anchor plate adapter.   
     
     
         2 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 1 , wherein the anchor plate adapter includes an inner wall spaced from the outer circumferential wall, and wherein each of the first locking interface comprises a pair of opposing holes with one of said holes on said outer circumferential wall and the other of said holes on said inner wall.

The anchor plate adapter of  claim 2 , wherein the pair of opposing holes is aligned with one or more complementary holes configured on the chimney to facilitate passage of a fastener, wherein the chimney includes a first portion adjacent to the outer circumferential wall and a second portion adjacent to the inner wall, the adapter inserted between the first and second portions of the chimney. 
     
     
         4 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 1 , wherein each of the first locking interfaces comprises one of a slot, a slit, a hole, a scored section, a sliced section, a cut section, and any combination thereof. 
     
     
         5 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 1 , wherein each of the second locking interfaces is a protrusion. 
     
     
         6 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 5 , wherein at least one of the second locking interfaces engages with an inward protrusion configured on an abutting surface of the chimney. 
     
     
         7 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 1 , wherein the anchor plate adapter makes a drip resistant contact with the chimney. 
     
     
         8 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 1 , wherein an inner surface of the anchor plate adapter has a step profile. 
     
     
         9 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 8 , wherein the step profile enables mounting of the chimneys having different inner tube diameter. 
     
     
         10 . An anchor plate adapter having an inner wall and an outer wall, the anchor plate adapter comprising a plurality of locking interfaces including a first locking interface and a second locking interface, wherein the first locking interface employs a different locking arrangement than the second locking interface, and wherein the first locking interface includes a first portion on the outer wall and a second portion on the inner wall, the first portion aligned with the second portion to receive a fastener extending through the first portion and the second portion, the inner wall including a step riser transitioning the inner wall from a first diameter to a second diameter, and one or more of the plurality of locking interfaces is utilized to securely mount a chimney on the anchor plate adapter with a first portion of the chimney adjacent the outer wall and a second portion of the chimney adjacent the inner wall such that the adapter is inserted between the first and second portions of the chimney. 
     
     
         11 . An anchor plate adapter having an inner wall and an outer wall spaced from the inner wall, comprising:
 a first locking interface located on the inner wall and the outer wall, the first locking interface including a first portion on the outer wall and a second portion on the inner wall, the first portion aligned with the second portion to receive a fastener extending through the first portion and the second portion; and   a second locking interface located on the outer wall, the outer wall having a circumference, the second locking interface including a plurality of protrusions extending outwardly from the outer wall, the protrusions being evenly spaced around the circumference of the outer wall, the protrusions spaced from the plurality of first locking interfaces;   wherein one of the first locking interface and the second locking interface is utilized to securely mount a chimney on the anchor plate adapter.   
     
     
         12 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 11 , wherein
 the first locking interface is a pair of opposing holes.

         14 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 12 , wherein the pair of opposing holes is aligned with one or more complementary holes provided on the chimney to facilitate passage of a fastener. 
     
     
         15 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 11 , wherein the first locking interface comprises one of a slot, a slit, a hole, a scored section, a sliced section, a cut section, and any combination thereof. 
     
     
         16 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 11 , wherein the inner wall makes a drip resistant contact with the chimney. 
     
     
         17 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 11 , wherein the inner wall has a step profile. 
     
     
         18 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 17 , wherein the inner wall with step profile enables mounting of the chimneys having different inner tube diameter. 
     
     
         19 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 11 , wherein the second locking interface engages with an inward protrusion configured on an abutting surface of the chimney. 
     
     
         20 . The anchor plate adapter of  claim 11 , wherein the anchor plate adapter is made from one of stainless steel, galvanized steel, and aluminum.
