Abstract

Dehydrated tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) candy foodstuff compositions are described, wherein the composition includes water, THC, and/or insects, a binding agent, an acid, or an oil. The composition includes flavorings, enhancers, lipids, emulsifiers, surfactants, esters, and various other ingredients, and may include various types of treated water.

1 . A dehydrated candy foodstuff composition, the composition includes: a mixture comprising water, tetrahydrocannabinol, and two or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of insects, a binding agent, and an acid;
 wherein:   said insects are selected from the group consisting of an insect lipid, Orthoptera order of insects, crickets, katydids, weta, lubber, acrida, locusts, cicadas, minilivestock, beetles, mealworms, yellow mealworm beetles, and  Tenebrio molitor;      said binding agent is selected from the group consisting of agar, agave, alginin, arrowroot, carrageenan, collagen, cornstarch, egg whites, furcellaran, gelatin, guar gum, honey, katakuri starch, locust bean gum, pectin, potato starch, protein,  psyllium  husks, sago, sugar, syrup, tapioca, vegetable gum, and xanthan gum;   said acid is selected from the group consisting of acetic acid, ascorbic acid, benzoic acid, citric acid, formic acid, fumaric acid, hydrochloric acid, lactic acid, malic acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, propionic acid, salicylic acid, sulfuric acid, and tartaric acid.   
     
     
         2 . The composition according to  claim 1 , comprising:
 an oil, said oil is selected from the group consisting of almond oil, an animal-based oil, apricot kernel oil, avocado oil, brazil nut oil, butter, canola oil, cashew oil, cocoa butter, coconut oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, grapeseed oil, hazelnut oil, lard, lard oil, macadamia nut oil, mustard oil, olive oil, palm kernel oil, palm oil, peanut oil, rapeseed oil, rice oil, rice bran oil, safflower oil, semi-refined sesame oil, semi-refined sunflower oil, sesame oil, soybean oil, tallow of beef, tallow of mutton, vegetable oil, and walnut oil.   
     
     
         3 . The composition according to  claim 1 , comprising:
 a flavoring, said flavoring is selected from the group consisting of allspice berries, anise seed, annato seed, basil, bay leaves, black pepper, caraway, cayenne, celery seed, chervil, chile powder, chives, cilantro, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, cream of tartar, cubeb berries, cumin, curry, dextrose, dill, fennel, fenugreek, file powder, ginger, grapefruit peel, horseradish powder, juniper berries, lavender, lemon grass powder, lemon peel, lime peel, long pepper, marjoram, molasses, mustard, natural smoke flavor, nigella seeds, nutmeg, orange peel, oregano, paprika, parsley, poppy seed, red pepper, rose petals, rosemary, saffron, sage, star anise, sugar maple, sumac, tamarind, tangerine peel, tarragon, thyme, tomatillo powder, tomato powder, turmeric, vanilla extract, white peppercorns, and wasabi powder.   
     
     
         4 . The composition according to  claim 1 , wherein:
 said binding agent includes two or more selected from the group consisting of the agar, the agave, the alginin, the arrowroot, the carrageenan, the collagen, the cornstarch, the egg whites, the furcellaran, the gelatin, the guar gum, the honey, the katakuri starch, the locust bean gum, the pectin, the potato starch, the protein, the  psyllium  husks, the sago, the sugar, the syrup, the tapioca, the vegetable gum, and the xanthan gum; and/or   said acid includes two or more selected from the group consisting of the acetic acid, the ascorbic acid, the benzoic acid, the citric acid, the formic acid, the fumaric acid, the hydrochloric acid, the lactic acid, the malic acid, the nitric acid, the phosphoric acid, the propionic acid, the salicylic acid, the sulfuric acid, and the tartaric acid.   
     
     
         5 . The composition according to  claim 1 , comprising:
 an enhancer, said enhancer is selected from the group consisting of niacin, taurine, glucuronic acid, malic acid, N-acetyl L tyrosine, caffeine, and citicoline.   
     
     
         6 . The composition according to  claim 1 , wherein:
 said insects is selected from the group consisting of ground insects, insect powder, whole insects, fermented insects, and spray-dried insects; or   said insect lipid is selected from the group consisting of palmitoleic acid, linoleic acid, alpha-linoleic acid, oleic acid, gamma-linoleic acid, and stearic acid.   
     
     
         7 . The composition according to  claim 1 , wherein:
 the composition comprises an extrudate.   
     
     
         8 . The composition according to  claim 1 , comprising:
 a biocatalyst, said biocatalyst is selected from the group consisting of an enzyme, a fungus, a microorganism, and yeast.   
     
     
         9 . The composition according to  claim 1 , wherein:
 said water is derived from one or more water treatment processes wherein said water treatment process is selected from the group of cation exchange, anion exchange, membrane filtration, and adsorbent filtration.   
     
     
         10 . The composition according to  claim 9 , comprising:
 a surfactant and/or emulsifier.   
     
     
         11 . The composition according to  claim 1 , comprising:
 an ingredient, said ingredient is selected from the group consisting of an alcohol, a diglyceride, an ester, ethanol, ethyl acetate, glycerin, glycerol, a monoglyceride, and cannabis volatiles;   wherein said cannabis volatiles do not include the tetrahydrocannabinol.   
     
     
         12 . An extruded and dehydrated candy foodstuff composition including: a mixture comprising water, tetrahydrocannabinol, and two or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of insects, a binding agent, and an acid;
 wherein:   said insects are selected from the group consisting of an insect lipid, Orthoptera order of insects, crickets, katydids, weta, lubber, acrida, locusts, cicadas, minilivestock, beetles, mealworms, yellow mealworm beetles, and  Tenebrio molitor;      said binding agent includes two or more selected from the group consisting of agar, agave, alginin, arrowroot, carrageenan, collagen, cornstarch, egg whites, furcellaran, gelatin, guar gum, honey, katakuri starch, locust bean gum, pectin, potato starch, protein,  psyllium  husks, sago, sugar, syrup, tapioca, vegetable gum, and xanthan gum;   said acid is selected from the group consisting of acetic acid, ascorbic acid, benzoic acid, citric acid, formic acid, fumaric acid, hydrochloric acid, lactic acid, malic acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, propionic acid, salicylic acid, sulfuric acid, and tartaric acid.   
     
     
         13 . The composition according to  claim 12 , comprising:
 a flavoring, said flavoring is selected from the group consisting of allspice berries, anise seed, annato seed, basil, bay leaves, black pepper, caraway, cayenne, celery seed, chervil, chile powder, chives, cilantro, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, cream of tartar, cubeb berries, cumin, curry, dextrose, dill, fennel, fenugreek, file powder, ginger, grapefruit peel, horseradish powder, juniper berries, lavender, lemon grass powder, lemon peel, lime peel, long pepper, marjoram, molasses, mustard, natural smoke flavor, nigella seeds, nutmeg, orange peel, oregano, paprika, parsley, poppy seed, red pepper, rose petals, rosemary, saffron, sage, star anise, sugar maple, sumac, tamarind, tangerine peel, tarragon, thyme, tomatillo powder, tomato powder, turmeric, vanilla extract, white peppercorns, and wasabi powder; and/or   an oil, said oil is selected from the group consisting of almond oil, an animal-based oil, apricot kernel oil, avocado oil, brazil nut oil, butter, canola oil, cashew oil, cocoa butter, coconut oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, grapeseed oil, hazelnut oil, lard, lard oil, macadamia nut oil, mustard oil, olive oil, palm kernel oil, palm oil, peanut oil, rapeseed oil, rice oil, rice bran oil, safflower oil, semi-refined sesame oil, semi-refined sunflower oil, sesame oil, soybean oil, tallow of beef, tallow of mutton, vegetable oil, and walnut oil; and/or   said acid includes two or more selected from the group consisting of the acetic acid, the ascorbic acid, the benzoic acid, the citric acid, the formic acid, the fumaric acid, the hydrochloric acid, the lactic acid, the malic acid, the nitric acid, the phosphoric acid, the propionic acid, the salicylic acid, the sulfuric acid, and the tartaric acid.   
     
     
         14 . The composition according to  claim 12 , wherein:
 said water is derived from one or more water treatment processes wherein said water treatment process is selected from the group of cation exchange, anion exchange, membrane filtration, and adsorbent filtration.   
     
     
         15 . The composition according to  claim 12 , comprising:
 an ingredient, said ingredient is selected from the group consisting of an alcohol, a surfactant, an emulsifier, a diglyceride, an ester, ethanol, ethyl acetate, glycerin, glycerol, a monoglyceride, and cannabis volatiles; wherein said cannabis volatiles do not include the tetrahydrocannabinol.   
     
     
         16 . An extruded and cooked food composition, wherein the composition is cooked in one or more selected from the group consisting of an oven, a dryer, a dehydrator, and a freeze dryer, the composition includes: a mixture comprising water, tetrahydrocannabinol, and three or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of insects, a binding agent, an oil, and an acid;
 wherein:   wherein:   said insects are selected from the group consisting of an insect lipid, Orthoptera order of insects, crickets, katydids, weta, lubber, acrida, locusts, cicadas, minilivestock, beetles, mealworms, yellow mealworm beetles, and  Tenebrio molitor;      said binding agent is selected from the group consisting of agar, agave, alginin, arrowroot, carrageenan, collagen, cornstarch, egg whites, furcellaran, gelatin, guar gum, honey, katakuri starch, locust bean gum, pectin, potato starch, protein,  psyllium  husks, sago, sugar, syrup, tapioca, vegetable gum, and xanthan gum;   said oil is selected from the group consisting of almond oil, an animal-based oil, apricot kernel oil, avocado oil, brazil nut oil, butter, canola oil, cashew oil, cocoa butter, coconut oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, grapeseed oil, hazelnut oil, lard, lard oil, macadamia nut oil, mustard oil, olive oil, palm kernel oil, palm oil, peanut oil, rapeseed oil, rice oil, rice bran oil, safflower oil, semi-refined sesame oil, semi-refined sunflower oil, sesame oil, soybean oil, tallow of beef, tallow of mutton, vegetable oil, and walnut oil;   said acid is selected from the group consisting of acetic acid, ascorbic acid, benzoic acid, citric acid, formic acid, fumaric acid, hydrochloric acid, lactic acid, malic acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, propionic acid, salicylic acid, sulfuric acid, and tartaric acid.   
     
     
         17 . The composition according to  claim 16 , comprising:
 a binding agent mass ratio ranging from between 10 to 750 pounds of the binding agent per ton of the composition.   
     
     
         18 . The composition according to  claim 16 , comprising:
 a flavoring, said flavoring is selected from the group consisting of allspice berries, anise seed, annato seed, basil, bay leaves, black pepper, caraway, cayenne, celery seed, chervil, chile powder, chives, cilantro, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, cream of tartar, cubeb berries, cumin, curry, dextrose, dill, fennel, fenugreek, file powder, ginger, grapefruit peel, horseradish powder, juniper berries, lavender, lemon grass powder, lemon peel, lime peel, long pepper, marjoram, molasses, mustard, natural smoke flavor, nigella seeds, nutmeg, orange peel, oregano, paprika, parsley, poppy seed, red pepper, rose petals, rosemary, saffron, sage, star anise, sugar maple, sumac, tamarind, tangerine peel, tarragon, thyme, tomatillo powder, tomato powder, turmeric, vanilla extract, white peppercorns, and wasabi powder; and/or   an enhancer, said enhancer is selected from the group consisting of niacin, taurine, glucuronic acid, malic acid, N-acetyl L tyrosine, caffeine, and citicoline.   
     
     
         19 . The composition according to  claim 16 , wherein:
 said water is derived from one or more water treatment processes wherein said water treatment process is selected from the group of cation exchange, anion exchange, membrane filtration, and adsorbent filtration.   
     
     
         20 . The composition according to  claim 16 , comprising:
 an ingredient, said ingredient is selected from the group consisting of an alcohol, a diglyceride, an ester, ethanol, ethyl acetate, glycerin, glycerol, a monoglyceride, and cannabis volatiles;   wherein said cannabis volatiles do not include the tetrahydrocannabinol.
