Live streaming object image capture and image conversion to product catalog

Abstract

Methods, systems and computer products as described herein are directed to a Live Listing Engine. Live Listing Engine sends a live video stream to a viewer computer device and a host computer device. The live video stream includes a view of an item from a perspective of the host computer device. The Live Listing Engine receives an upload of an image of the view of the item captured from a preview window rendered on the host computer device. The Live Listing Engine receives listing information associated with the image from the host computer device. The Live Listing Engine generates a listing thumbnail based on the image and the listing information and inserts the listing thumbnail into the live video stream for display at the viewer computer device and the host computer device.

1 . A computer-implemented method, comprising:
 sending a first portion of a live video stream to a viewer computer device based on first video data associated with a camera of a host computer device, the first portion of the live video stream including respective real-time views of an item that correspond with various perspectives of the camera caused by respective changes in physical orientations of the host computer device;   sending a second portion of the live video stream to the viewer computer device based on second video data associated with the camera of the host computer device, the second portion of the live video stream including a particular real-time view of the item that corresponds with a particular perspective of the camera caused by a particular change in the physical orientation of the host computer device, the particular physical orientation of the host computer device being different than one or more of the prior respective physical orientations of the host computer device for the first portion of the live video stream;   receiving an upload of image data captured from an image preview window for the camera, the image preview window rendered in place of display of the live video stream at the host computer device and concurrent with the host's particular physical orientation, the image data representing the same particular real-time view of the item sent in the second portion of the live video stream;   receiving listing information from the host computer device;   generating a listing thumbnail based on the image data and the listing information; and   inserting the listing thumbnail into one or more subsequent portions of the live video stream occurring after the first and the second portions of the live video stream, wherein the one or more subsequent portions of the live video stream correspond with various subsequent perspectives of the camera caused by respective subsequent physical orientations of the host computer device.   
     
     
         2 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , wherein receiving an upload of an image of the view of the item captured from a preview window rendered on the host computer device comprises:
 receiving at least a portion of the upload of the image data concurrent with (i) at least a portion of the listing information being input at the host computer device and (ii) the one or more subsequent physical orientations of the host computer device.   
     
     
         3 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , wherein generating a listing thumbnail based on the image data and the listing information comprises: generating a first listing thumbnail including an overlay of an inventory indicator and an overlay of a price indicator, the inventory indicator and the price indicator associated with the listing information; and
 wherein inserting a listing thumbnail into the live video stream for display at the viewer computer device and comprises:
 inserting the first listing thumbnail into the one or more of the subsequent portions of the live video stream; and 
 sending the one or more subsequent portions of the live video stream to the viewer computer device and the host computer device. 
   
     
     
         4 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 3 , further comprising:
 receiving updated price information for the listing information from the host computer device concurrent with sending the one or more subsequent portions of the live video stream with the inserted first listing thumbnail to the viewer computer device;   wherein generating a listing thumbnail comprises:
 generating a second listing thumbnail including an overlay of an updated price indicator based on the updated price information; and 
 sending the second listing thumbnail to the host computer device, the host computer device comprising a thumbnail preview graphic region functionality for display of the second listing thumbnail of the image concurrently with display of the live video stream on the host computer device. 
   
     
     
         5 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 4 , wherein generating a listing thumbnail comprises: generating an updated first listing thumbnail, the updated first listing thumbnail including the overlay of the inventory indicator and an overlay of an updated price indicator due to the updated price information; and
 wherein inserting the listing thumbnail into the live video stream comprises:   
       inserting the updated first listing thumbnail for display at one or more of the viewer computer device and the host computer device. 
     
     
         6 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 5 , wherein generating an updated first listing thumbnail comprises:
 generating the overlay of the updated price indicator for the updated first listing thumbnail to include a display of a modified visual appearance of the price indicator of the first listing thumbnail.   
     
     
         7 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 receiving a request to purchase the item based on a selection of the first thumbnail displayed in the live video stream at the viewer computer device.   
     
     
         8 . A system comprising:
 one or more processors; and   a non-transitory computer readable medium storing a plurality of instructions, which when executed, cause the one or more processors to:   send a first portion of a live video stream to a viewer computer device based on first video data associated with a camera of a host computer device, the first portion of the live video stream including respective real-time views of an item that correspond with various perspectives of the camera caused by respective changes in physical orientations of the host computer device;   send a second portion of the live video stream to the viewer computer device based on second video data associated with the camera of the host computer device, the second portion of the live video stream including a particular real-time view of the item that corresponds with a particular perspective of the camera caused by a particular change in the physical orientation of the host computer device, the particular physical orientation of the host computer device being different than one or more of the prior respective physical orientations of the host computer device for the first portion of the live video stream;   receive an upload of image data captured from an image preview window for the camera, the image preview window rendered in place of display of the live video stream at the host computer device and concurrent with the host's particular physical orientation, the image data representing the same particular real-time view of the item sent in the second portion of the live video stream;   receive listing information from the host computer device;   generate a listing thumbnail based on the image data and the listing information; and   insert the listing thumbnail into one or more subsequent portions of the live video stream occurring after the first and the second portions of the live video stream, wherein the one or more subsequent portions of the live video stream correspond with various subsequent perspectives of the camera caused by respective subsequent physical orientations of the host computer device.   
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein receive an upload of an image of the view of the item captured from a preview window rendered on the host computer device comprises:
 receive at least a portion of the upload of the image data concurrent with (i) at least a portion of the listing information being input at the host computer device and (ii) the one or more subsequent physical orientations of the host computer device.   
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein generate a listing thumbnail based on the image data and the listing information comprises: generating a first listing thumbnail including an overlay of an inventory indicator and an overlay of a price indicator, the inventory indicator and the price indicator associated with the listing information; and
 wherein inserting a listing thumbnail into the live video stream for display at the viewer computer device and comprises:
 inserting the first listing thumbnail into the one or more of the subsequent portions of the live video stream; and 
 sending the one or more subsequent portions of the live video stream to the viewer computer device and the host computer device. 
   
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 10 , further comprising:
 receive updated price information for the listing information from the host computer device concurrent with sending the one or more subsequent portions of the live video stream with the inserted first listing thumbnail to the viewer computer device;   wherein generating a listing thumbnail comprises:
 generating a second listing thumbnail including an overlay of an updated price indicator based on the updated price information; and 
 sending the second listing thumbnail to the host computer device, the host computer device comprising a thumbnail preview graphic region functionality for display of the second listing thumbnail of the image concurrently with display of the live video stream on the host computer device. 
   
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein generate a listing thumbnail comprises: generating an updated first listing thumbnail, the updated first listing thumbnail including the overlay of the inventory indicator and an overlay of an updated price indicator due to the updated price information; and
 wherein insert the listing thumbnail into the live video stream comprises:   
       insert the updated first listing thumbnail for display at one or more of the viewer computer device and the host computer device; and 
       wherein generate an updated first listing thumbnail comprises:
 generate the overlay of the updated price indicator for the updated first listing thumbnail to include a display of a modified visual appearance of the price indicator of the first listing thumbnail.

 receive a request to purchase the item based on a selection of the first thumbnail displayed in the live video stream at the viewer computer device.   
     
     
         15 . A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium having a computer-readable program code embodied therein to be executed by one or more processors, the program code including instructions to:
 send a first portion of a live video stream to a viewer computer device based on first video data associated with a camera of a host computer device, the first portion of the live video stream including respective real-time views of an item that correspond with various perspectives of the camera caused by respective changes in physical orientations of the host computer device;   send a second portion of the live video stream to the viewer computer device based on second video data associated with the camera of the host computer device, the second portion of the live video stream including a particular real-time view of the item that corresponds with a particular perspective of the camera caused by a particular change in the physical orientation of the host computer device, the particular physical orientation of the host computer device being different than one or more of the prior respective physical orientations of the host computer device for the first portion of the live video stream;   receive an upload of image data captured from an image preview window for the camera, the image preview window rendered in place of display of the live video stream at the host computer device and concurrent with the host's particular physical orientation, the image data representing the same particular real-time view of the item sent in the second portion of the live video stream;   receive listing information from the host computer device;   generate a listing thumbnail based on the image data and the listing information; and   insert the listing thumbnail into one or more subsequent portions of the live video stream occurring after the first and the second portions of the live video stream, wherein the one or more subsequent portions of the live video stream correspond with various subsequent perspectives of the camera caused by respective subsequent physical orientations of the host computer device.   
     
     
         16 . The computer program product of  claim 15 , wherein receive an upload of an image of the view of the item captured from a preview window rendered on the host computer device comprises:
 receive at least a portion of the upload of the image data concurrent with (i) at least a portion of the listing information being input at the host computer device and (ii) the one or more subsequent physical orientations of the host computer device.   
     
     
         17 . The computer program product of  claim 15 , wherein generate a listing thumbnail based on the image data and the listing information comprises: generating a first listing thumbnail including an overlay of an inventory indicator and an overlay of a price indicator, the inventory indicator and the price indicator associated with the listing information; and
 wherein inserting a listing thumbnail into the live video stream for display at the viewer computer device and comprises:
 inserting the first listing thumbnail into the one or more of the subsequent portions of the live video stream; and 
 sending the one or more subsequent portions of the live video stream to the viewer computer device and the host computer device. 
   
     
     
         18 . The computer program product of  claim 17 , further comprising:
 receive updated price information for the listing information from the host computer device concurrent with sending the one or more subsequent portions of the live video stream with the inserted first listing thumbnail to the viewer computer device;   wherein generating a listing thumbnail comprises:
 generating a second listing thumbnail including an overlay of an updated price indicator based on the updated price information; and 
 sending the second listing thumbnail to the host computer device, the host computer device comprising a thumbnail preview graphic region functionality for display of the second listing thumbnail of the image concurrently with display of the live video stream on the host computer device.

The computer program product of  claim 18 , wherein generate a listing thumbnail comprises: generating an updated first listing thumbnail, the updated first listing thumbnail including the overlay of the inventory indicator and an overlay of an updated price indicator due to the updated price information; and
 wherein insert the listing thumbnail into the live video stream comprises:   
       insert the updated first listing thumbnail for display at the viewer computer device and the host computer device; 
       wherein generate an updated first listing thumbnail comprises:
 generate the overlay of the updated price indicator for the updated first listing thumbnail to include a display of a modified visual appearance of the price indicator of the first listing thumbnail.
