Abstract

Provided are systems and methods using which users may learn and become familiar with the effects of various aspects of their lifestyle on their health, e.g., users may learn about how food and/or exercise affects their glucose level and other physiological parameters, as well as overall health. In some cases the user selects a program to try; in other cases, a computing environment embodying the system suggests programs to try, including on the basis of pattern recognition, i.e., by the computing environment determining how a user could improve a detected pattern in some way. In this way, users such as type II diabetics or even users who are only prediabetic or non-diabetic may learn healthy habits to benefit their health.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A method for monitoring a therapeutic treatment, comprising:
selecting a program that a user is to comply with, the program including adherence to a medication regimen; monitoring in real time an additive incorporated in the medication ingested by the user as a part of the program; and evaluating compliance with the program based at least in part on the monitoring of the additive.

2 . The method of claim 1 further comprising displaying an output responsive to the evaluating.

3 . The method of claim 2 wherein the output indicates a degree of success or failure of the program.

4 . The method of claim 1 further comprising modifying the program based at least in part on the evaluating.

5 . The method of claim 4 wherein the modifying is further based at least in part on evaluating data about other users having a profile similar to the user.

6 . The method of claim 4 further comprising monitoring in real time an analyte level, wherein the modifying is further based at least in part on the monitored analyte level.

7 . The method of claim 6 wherein the monitoring of the additive and the monitoring of the analyte level are performed by different sensors.

8 . The method of claim 6 wherein the monitoring of the additive and the monitoring of the analyte level are performed by a common sensor.

9 . The method of claim 1 further comprising communicating an output responsive to the evaluating to a third party.

10 . The method of claim 9 wherein the third party includes a pharmacy, clinician and/or a case manager.

11 . The method of claim 1 wherein the therapeutic treatment includes therapeutic treatment of diabetes.

12 . The method of claim 1 wherein the therapeutic treatment includes therapeutic treatment for weight loss.

13 . The method of claim 4 wherein modifying the program is further based at least in part on data exclusive of sensor data.

14 . The method of claim 13 wherein the data exclusive of sensor data includes information specifying therapeutic treatments previously used by the user.

15 . The method of claim 14 wherein the data exclusive of sensor data includes user-entered information.

16 . The method of claim 1 wherein evaluating compliance with the program includes evaluating compliance with a type and dosage of the medication.

17 . The method of claim 1 wherein evaluating compliance with the program is also based at least in part on additional data.

18 . The method of claim 17 wherein the additional data includes manually entered data, sensor data and/or cloud-based data.
