Claims

Abstract

A data packet detection method, a device, and a system are disclosed. The method includes: receiving first control information sent by a controller; receiving a first data packet sent by a previous-hop network device of a first network device, where the first data packet includes first detection information, and the first detection information includes a first detection node identifier, a first sequence number, and first collection information; determining, based on the first collection information, first collected data corresponding to the first collection information, and updating the first detection node identifier; and sending, to a next-hop network device of the first network device, the first data packet carrying the updated first detection information. This implements information telemetry on a data packet on a transmission path.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A data packet processing method by a first network device, wherein the method comprises:
 receiving a first data packet sent by a previous-hop network device relative to the first network device, wherein the first data packet comprises first detection information comprising first collection information;   obtaining first collected data according to the first collection information; and   sending, to a next-hop network device of the first network device, the first data packet carrying the first detection information and without the first collected data, wherein the first network device, the previous-hop network device and the next-hop network device are in a detection domain.   
     
     
         2 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:
 sending, by the first network device, a report message to a network entity, wherein the report message comprises the first collected data, and the report message further comprises at least one of the following information:   the first collection information, a flow identifier, a sequence number and a first detection node identifier.   
     
     
         3 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the first collection information indicates a type of the first collected data. 
     
     
         4 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the first collection information indicates a detection task type, the detection task type is packet loss detection. 
     
     
         5 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the first data packet further comprises a first detection node identifier, the first detection node identifier indicates a location, in the detection domain, of a network device processing the first detection information. 
     
     
         6 . The method according to  claim 5 , wherein the method further comprises:
 updating, by the first network device, the first detection node identifier.   
     
     
         7 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the first detection information further comprises a first sequence number, the first sequence number indicates a sequence number of the first data packet. 
     
     
         8 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the first detection information further comprises a flow identifier, and the flow identifier indicates a data flow to which the first data packet belongs. 
     
     
         9 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the first data packet is an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) packet. 
     
     
         10 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the IPv6 packet comprises a hop by hop (HBH) extension header, the HBH extension header comprises the first detection information. 
     
     
         11 . A data packet processing method by a head node device, wherein the method comprises:
 encapsulating detection information into a data packet to obtain a first date packet, wherein the first data packet comprises first detection information comprising first collection information;   obtaining first collected data according to the first collection information; and   sending, to a next-hop network device of the head node device, the first data packet carrying the first detection information and without the first collected data, wherein the head node device and the next-hop network device are in a detection domain.   
     
     
         12 . The method according to  claim 11 , wherein the method further comprises:
 sending, by the head node device, a report message to a network entity, wherein the report message comprises the first collected data, the report message further comprises at least one of the following information:   the first collection information, a flow identifier, a sequence number and a first detection node identifier.   
     
     
         13 . The method according to  claim 11 , wherein the first collection information indicates a type of the first collected data. 
     
     
         14 . The method according to  claim 11 , wherein the first collection information indicates a detection task type, the detection task type is packet loss detection. 
     
     
         15 . The method according to  claim 11 , wherein the first data packet further comprises a first detection node identifier, the first detection node identifier indicates a location, in the detection domain, of a network device processing the first detection information. 
     
     
         16 . The method according to  claim 11 , wherein the first detection information further comprises a first sequence number, the first sequence number indicates a sequence number of the first data packet. 
     
     
         17 . The method according to  claim 11 , wherein the first detection information further comprises a flow identifier, and the flow identifier indicates a data flow to which the first data packet belongs. 
     
     
         18 . The method according to  claim 11 , wherein the first data packet is an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) packet. 
     
     
         19 . The method according to  claim 11 , wherein the IPv6 packet comprises a hop by hop (HBH) extension header, the HBH extension header comprises the first detection information. 
     
     
         20 . A first network device, wherein the first network device comprises:
 a non-transitory memory, configured to store instructions; and   a processor coupled to the non-transitory memory; wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, causes the first network device to:   receive a first data packet sent by a previous-hop network device relative to the first network device, wherein the first data packet comprises first detection information comprising first collection information;   obtain first collected data according to the first collection information; and   send, to a next-hop network device of the first network device, the first data packet carrying the first detection information and without the first collected data, wherein the first network device, the previous-hop network device and the next-hop network device in a detection domain.   
     
     
         21 . The first network device according to  claim 20 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the first network device to be configured to:
 send a report message to a network entity, wherein the report message comprises the first collected data, the report message further comprises at least one of the following information:   the first collection information, a flow identifier, a sequence number and a first detection node identifier.   
     
     
         22 . The first network device according to  claim 20 , wherein the first collection information indicates a type of the first collected data. 
     
     
         23 . The first network device according to  claim 20 , wherein the first collection information indicates a detection task type, the detection task type is packet loss detection. 
     
     
         24 . The first network device according to  claim 20 , wherein the first data packet is an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) packet, wherein the IPv6 packet comprises a hop by hop (HBH) extension header, the HBH extension header comprises the first detection information. 
     
     
         25 . A head node device, wherein the head node device comprises:
 a non-transitory memory, configured to store instructions; and   a processor coupled to the non-transitory memory; wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, causes the head node device to:   encapsulate detection information into a data packet to obtain a first date packet, wherein the first data packet comprises first detection information comprising first collection information;   obtain first collected data according to the first collection information; and   send, to a next-hop network device of the head node device, the first data packet carrying the first detection information and without the first collected data, wherein the head node device and the next-hop network device in a detection domain.   
     
     
         26 . The head node device according to  claim 25 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the head node device to be configured to:
 send a report message to a network entity, wherein the report message comprises the first collected data, the report message further comprises at least one of the following information:   the first collection information, a flow identifier, a sequence number and a first detection node identifier.   
     
     
         27 . The head node device according to  claim 25 , wherein the first collection information indicates a type of the first collected data. 
     
     
         28 . The head node device according to  claim 25 , wherein the first collection information indicates a detection task type, the detection task type is packet loss detection. 
     
     
         29 . The head node device according to  claim 25 , wherein the first data packet is an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) packet, wherein the IPv6 packet comprises a hop by hop (HBH) extension header, the HBH extension header comprises the first detection information. 
     
     
         30 . A system, wherein the system comprises a head node device and first network device,
 wherein the head node device is configured to:   encapsulate detection information into a data packet to obtain a first date packet, wherein the first data packet comprises first detection information comprising first collection information;   obtain first collected data according to the first collection information; and   send, to a first next-hop network device of the head node device, the first data packet carrying the first detection information and without the first collected data, wherein the head node device and the first next-hop network device in a detection domain;   wherein the first network device is configured to:   receive the first data packet sent by a first previous-hop network device relative to the first network device;   obtain second collected data according to the first collection information; and   send, to a second next-hop network device of the first network device, the first data packet carrying the first detection information and without the first collected data, wherein the first network device, the first previous-hop network device and the second next-hop network device in the detection domain.   
     
     
         31 . The system according to  claim 30 , wherein the system further comprises an end node device, the end node device is configured to:
 receive the first data packet sent by a second previous-hop network device relative to the end node device;   obtain third collected data according to the first collection information; and   delete, the first detection information from the first data packet, wherein the end node device and the second previous-hop network device in the detection domain.
