Abstract
A mattress comprising a polyurethane layer; at least one intermediate layer comprising at least one channel, at least one support element, or both, wherein a bottom-most intermediate layer is and disposed directly above the polyurethane layer; and a comfort layer disposed directly above an uppermost intermediate layer. A mattress assembly comprising the mattress and a mattress foundation.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 .- 20 . (canceled)
21 . A mattress, comprising:
a polyurethane layer; at least one first intermediate layer comprising one and only one channel, wherein the channel comprises a ceiling, wherein (i) the ceiling of the channel in the center of the channel is higher than both the ceiling at an end nearest a head of the mattress and the ceiling at an end nearest a foot of the mattress, and (ii) the channel comprises a floor opposite the ceiling and the floor of the channel in the center of the channel is higher than both the floor at the end nearest the head of the mattress and the floor at the end nearest the foot of the mattress, and the intermediate layer is continuous above the ceiling of the channel, at least one second intermediate layer comprising either a plurality of channels or a single channel, wherein the ceiling of each channel is at a single height and the floor of each channel is at a single height, wherein a bottom-most intermediate layer is disposed directly above the polyurethane layer; and a comfort layer disposed directly above an uppermost intermediate layer.
22 . The mattress of claim 21 , wherein the comfort layer comprises a foam.
23 . The mattress of claim 22 , wherein the foam is a viscoelastic foam.
24 . The mattress of claim 21 , wherein at least one intermediate layer comprises at least one channel extending laterally from a first side to an opposite side and a plurality of support elements disposed in the channel.
25 . The mattress of claim 24 , wherein each of the support elements of at least one intermediate layer is selected from the group consisting of tubular foam springs, foam spheres, or foam hemispheres.
26 . The mattress of claim 24 , wherein at least one intermediate layer comprises one channel.
27 . The mattress of claim 26 , wherein the channel is curved upward in side view.
28 . The mattress of claim 21 , wherein at least one intermediate layer comprises a non-viscoelastic foam.
29 . A mattress assembly, comprising:
polyurethane layer; at least one first intermediate layer comprising one and only one channel, wherein the channel comprises a ceiling, wherein (i) the ceiling of the channel in the center of the channel is higher than both the ceiling at an end nearest a head of the mattress and the ceiling at an end nearest a foot of the mattress, and (ii) the channel comprises a floor opposite the ceiling and the floor of the channel in the center of the channel is higher than both the floor at the end nearest the head of the mattress and the floor at the end nearest the foot of the mattress, and the intermediate layer is continuous above the ceiling of the channel, at least one second intermediate layer comprising either a plurality of channels or a single channel, wherein the ceiling of each channel is at a single height and the floor of each channel is at a single height, wherein a bottom-most intermediate layer is disposed directly above the polyurethane layer; a comfort layer disposed directly above an uppermost intermediate layer; and a mattress foundation disposed under the mattress.
30 . The mattress assembly of claim 29 , wherein the comfort layer comprises a foam.
31 . The mattress assembly of claim 30 , wherein the foam is a viscoelastic foam.
32 . The mattress assembly of claim 29 , wherein at least one intermediate layer comprises at least one channel extending laterally from a first side to an opposite side and a plurality of support elements disposed in the channel.
33 . The mattress assembly of claim 32 , wherein each of the support elements is selected from the group consisting of tubular foam springs, foam spheres, or foam hemispheres.
34 . The mattress assembly of claim 32 , wherein at least one intermediate layer comprises one channel.
35 . The mattress assembly of claim 34 , wherein the channel is curved upward in side view.
36 . The mattress assembly of claim 29 , wherein at least one intermediate layer comprises a non-viscoelastic foam.
37 . A mattress, comprising:
polyurethane layer; at least one first intermediate layer comprising one and only one channel, wherein the channel comprises a ceiling, wherein (i) the ceiling of the channel in the center of the channel is higher than both the ceiling at an end nearest a head of the mattress and the ceiling at an end nearest a foot of the mattress, and (ii) the channel comprises a floor opposite the ceiling and the floor of the channel in the center of the channel is higher than both the floor at the end nearest the head of the mattress and the floor at the end nearest the foot of the mattress, and the intermediate layer is continuous above the ceiling of the channel, at least one second intermediate layer comprising either a plurality of channels or a single channel, wherein the ceiling of each channel is at a single height and the floor of each channel is at a single height, wherein a bottom-most intermediate layer is disposed directly above the polyurethane layer; and a viscoelastic foam layer disposed directly above an uppermost intermediate layer.
38 . The mattress of claim 37 , wherein each of the support elements is selected from the group consisting of tubular foam springs, foam spheres, or foam hemispheres.
39 . The mattress of claim 37 , wherein at least one intermediate layer comprises one channel.
40 . The mattress of claim 39 , wherein the channel is curved upward in side view.Cited by (0)
