Base station system
Abstract
A base station system includes a base station device ( 1 ), a wireless transmission device ( 2 ) and a data transfer device ( 3 ), each of which can be installed outdoors. Enclosures ( 12, 22 and 32 ) of the devices ( 1 - 3 ) each provide a degree of protection from water and dust ingress necessary for being installed outdoors. The enclosure ( 12 ) of the base station device ( 1 ) accommodates electronic equipment ( 11 ) functioning as a base station. The enclosure ( 22 ) of the wireless transmission device ( 2 ) accommodates electronic equipment ( 21 ) functioning as a radio station to perform wireless transmission with the other device for connecting the base station device ( 1 ) in a mobile backhaul network. The enclosure ( 32 ) of the data master device ( 3 ) accommodates electronic equipment ( 31 ) functioning as a router or a switch to transfer data packets or data flames between the base station device ( 1 ) and the wireless transmission device ( 2 ). This eliminates the need for construction of a building/shelter to install the base station system.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 14 . (canceled)
14 . A system for a mobile backhaul network, the system comprising:
a plurality of radio devices configured to transmit data to the mobile backhaul network; and a switch device configured to communicate with a base station device and the plurality of radio devices, wherein the switch device comprises a first outdoor enclosure configured to protecting the switch device from ingress of at least one of water and dust, and wherein each of the plurality of radio devices comprises a second outdoor enclosure configured to protect a corresponding one of the plurality of radio devices from ingress of at least one of water and dust.
15 . The system according to claim 14 , wherein the first outdoor enclosure comprises:
a first cable interface configured to provide the switch device with a wired connection to the base station device; and a second cable interface configured to provide the switch device with a wired connection to each of the plurality of radio devices.
16 . The system according to claim 14 , wherein the base station device comprises a third outdoor enclosure configured to protect the base station device from ingress of at least one of water and dust.
17 . The system according to claim 14 , wherein the first outdoor enclosure is configured to be mounted on a wall surface or a pole surface with use of a mounting member.
18 . The system according to claim 14 , wherein the first outdoor enclosure and the second outdoor enclosure provide a degree of ingress protection of at least Ingress Protection (IP) 66 according to International Electrical Commission standard 60529 (IEC 60529) defined by the IEC.
19 . The system according to claim 14 , wherein the switch device is configured to supply operating power to each of the plurality of radio devices via a cable.
20 . The system according to claim 14 , wherein the switch device further comprises power supply equipment configured to receive power from an external DC power supply or an external AC power supply, and to supply operating power to the plurality of radio devices.
21 . The system according to claim 19 , wherein the switch device is configured to supply the operating power to each of the plurality of radio devices via the cable by using a Power over Ethernet.
22 . A method comprising:
mounting a switch device and a plurality of radio devices on a wall or a pole via one or more mounting members, wherein the switch device communicates with a base station device and the plurality of radio devices and comprises a first outdoor enclosure configured to protect the switch device from ingress of at least one of water and dust, wherein the plurality of radio devices transmits data to a mobile backhaul network respectively, and each of the plurality of radio devices comprises a second outdoor enclosure configured to protect a corresponding one of the plurality of radio devices from ingress of at least one of water and dust; connecting the switch device to the base station device via a first communication cable; and connecting the switch device to each of the plurality of radio devices via a second communication cable.
23 . The method according to claim 22 , wherein the mounting comprises mounting the switch device on the same wall or on the same pole as the plurality of radio devices.
24 . The method according to claim 22 , wherein the mobile backhaul network comprises a core network.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
