Abstract

A system receives a digital representation of a biometric for a person, uses the digital representation of the biometric to determine and/or otherwise retrieve identity information associated with the person, and uses the identity information to perform one or more actions related to the person's presence in one or more areas. For example, the system may estimate a path for the person and signal an agent electronic device based on the path. In another example, the system may determine a presence of a person within the area and/or transmit information to an agent electronic device regarding the determined presence. In still another example, the system may receive a request to communicate with the person and forward the communication to the person using the identity information.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A system, comprising:
 at least one non-transitory storage medium that stores instructions; and at least one processor that executes the instructions to:
 use a digital representation of a biometric for a person to determine identity information associated with the person prior to the person entering an area;
 allow the person access to the area;
 determine that the person is present in the area;
 track movement of the person in the area;
 determine that the person has left the area;
 obtain a payment for goods obtained by the person in the area; and
 transmit a communication to the person.

         2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the digital representation of the biometric corresponds to a palm.

         3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor obtains the payment using a credit card associated with the person.

         4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor verifies that the person is authorized to obtain the goods before allowing the person access to the area.

         5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the communication includes information regarding the payment.

         6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the area is a merchant's store.

         7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor tracks the movement of the person using a camera.

         8 . A system, comprising:
 at least one non-transitory storage medium that stores instructions; and at least one processor that executes the instructions to:
 use a digital representation of a biometric for a person to determine identity information associated with the person;
 track movement of the person in an area;
 determine that the person has left the area;
 process a payment for goods provided to the person in the area; and
 transmit a communication to the person.

         9 . The system of claim 8 , further comprising a palm scanner that obtains the digital representation of the biometric.

         10 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the identity information includes a telephone number for the person.

         11 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the identity information includes a financial account number for the person.

         12 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the communication includes information regarding the goods.

         13 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the at least one processor transmits the communication using contact information stored in the identity information.

         14 . The system of claim 8 , further comprising a biometric reader device that obtains the digital representation of the biometric.

         15 . A system, comprising:
 at least one non-transitory storage medium that stores instructions; and at least one processor that executes the instructions to:
 use a digital representation of a biometric for a person to determine identity information associated with the person prior to the person entering an area;
 determine that the person has left the area; and
 facilitate processing of a payment for goods obtained by the person in the area.

         16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the at least one processor facilitates the processing of the payment by charging a credit card associated with the person.

         17 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the at least one processor determines that the person passed an entrance to the area.

         18 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the at least one processor determines a location of a mobile electronic device associated with the person.

         19 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the at least one processor determines a location of the person.

         20 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the at least one processor is incorporated into a kiosk.
