Fitness monitoring methods, systems, and program products, and applications thereof
Abstract
Program products, methods, and systems for providing fitness monitoring are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method for scheduling training activities for a user of a fitness monitoring device includes: defining a cardio training plan including one or more cardio training activities and defining a non-cardio training plan including one or more non-cardio training activities; scheduling execution of the non-cardio training plan and the cardio training plan in a training calendar; and providing a graphical display of the training calendar including the cardio training plan and the non-cardio training plan to the user of the fitness monitoring device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . A fitness monitoring system, comprising:
a portable fitness monitoring device, comprising:
user input controls;
a memory; and
a transceiver,
wherein a training plan is stored on the portable fitness monitoring device, the training plan comprising a plurality of scheduled training activities with predetermined activities and accessed via the user input controls, and wherein the portable fitness monitoring device is configured to provide real-time feedback and coaching to the portable fitness monitoring device in response to a user performing a predetermined activity.
22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the function of the user input controls is determined based on an operating mode of the portable fitness monitoring device.
23 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the user input controls comprise touch screen input controls.
24 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the user input controls comprise voice-activated controls.
25 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the user input controls are integrally coupled to a housing of the portable fitness device.
26 . The system of claim 21 , further comprising:
a separate visual display output device, comprising:
a visual display; and
user input controls, wherein commands entered via the user input controls on the separate visual display output device are transmitted to the portable fitness monitoring device.
27 . The system of claim 26 , wherein the commands entered via the user input controls on the separate visual display output device are transmitted wirelessly.
28 . The system of claim 26 , wherein the separate visual display output device does not include a positioning system receiver.
29 . The system of claim 26 , wherein the visual display provides numerical performance parameter information during an activity.
30 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the portable fitness monitoring device does not include a positioning system receiver.
31 . The system of claim 21 , further comprising:
a server configured to communicate with the portable fitness monitoring device.
32 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the server is configured to communicate with the portable fitness monitoring device such that prior to conducting an activity with the portable fitness monitoring device, the server sends an activity goal to the portable fitness monitoring device in accordance with the training plan.
33 . The system of claim 32 , wherein in response to an activity being completed with the portable fitness monitoring device, the server sends an updated activity goal to the portable fitness monitoring device and updates the training plan.
34 . The system of claim 21 , further comprising:
a second portable fitness monitoring device configured to communicate with the first portable fitness monitoring device.
35 . The system of claim 34 , wherein the communication is directly between the first and second portable fitness monitoring devices.
36 . A method of scheduling a plurality of training activities for a user of a portable fitness monitoring device, the method comprising:
receiving at the portable fitness monitoring device a training category selection from the user via input user controls; scheduling a plurality of training activities based on the selected training category, wherein a first training activity comprises a predetermined goal; sending the predetermined goal to the portable fitness monitoring device; providing real-time feedback regarding whether the user meets the pre-determined goal; and receiving workout data associated with the predetermined goal; and defining an updated goal for a subsequent scheduled training activity based on the user's workout data.
37 . The method of claim 36 , further comprising:
receiving commands from a separate visual display output device at the portable fitness monitoring device such that an activity is selected.
38 . The method of claim 36 , further comprising:
displaying numerical performance information during an activity on a separate visual display output device than the portable fitness monitoring device.
39 . The method of claim 38 , wherein the performance information further comprises color-coded performance zone information.
40 . The method of claim 36 , further comprising:
receiving, from a network, information from a second portable fitness monitoring device of a second user.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
