Methods and systems for network-enabled account creation using optical detection
Abstract
Provided is a network-enabled method for creating an online account using a network of devices. The method comprises: receiving by an authentication system, a request to create an online account with an online server; generating a visual graphical code by the authentication system, which is displayed on a display screen and comprises a validation identity; acquiring image data of the visual graphical code from a user device with aid of optical detection apparatus, by capturing an image of the visual graphical code displayed on the display screen; processing the image data to extract the validation identity; based on the validation identity identifying an online serve provider associated with the online server and user information categories associated with the online account; and based on identification information related to the user identifying the user, and the data to the online server for the online account with the online server.

2 . A network-enabled method for creating an online account using a network of devices, said method comprising:
(a) receiving, by an authentication system, a request from an online server to create an online account with the online server for a user; (b) in response to said request, generating a visual graphical code by the authentication system, wherein the visual graphical code is encoded with a validation identity that is associated with the online server or an online service provider that is operating the online server; (c) acquiring an image data of the visual graphical code from a user device of the user, wherein the image data is received along with an identification information related to the user; (d) extracting the validation identity by processing said image data to authenticate the online service provider; (e) based on the validation identity, identifying the online service provider associated with the online server; (f) accessing a memory storage space to retrieve one or more pre-stored user information categories associated with the online service provider based on the identified online service provider, wherein the one or more pre-stored user information categories are requested by the online service provider to create an online account with the online service provider; and (g) providing, based on the identification information related to the user, user information data according to the user information categories to the online server for the online account to be created with the online server.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the request received from the online server encodes an identity of the online server.
4 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising consolidating different labels from different online serve providers into a label indicating a same user information category.
5 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising identifying the one or more user information categories that is not pre-stored in the memory storage space, and prompting the user to provide user information according to the identified one or more user information categories via the user device.
6 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the visual graphical code is a one-time barcode that is uniquely associated with opening the online account.
7 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the identification information related to the user comprises a device identifier of the user device.
8 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising receiving nonce data along with the image data for detecting a replay attack.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the nonce data comprises at least two of the following: (i) one or more operational parameters of the imaging, (ii) positional information about the imaging device or the user device, and (iii) characteristics of the image data derived from image processing of the image data.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the nonce data comprises data about a location of the user touching on a touch screen of the user device.
11 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising generating an authentication code by the authentication system for authenticating the visual graphical code.
12 . An authentication system for creating an online account using a network of devices, the system comprising:
an authentication server in communication with a user device configured to permit a user to create an online account with an online server, wherein the authentication server comprises: (i) a memory for storing a set of software instructions, user information data for each of a plurality of users and a plurality of information categories uniquely associated with each of a plurality of users, and (ii) one or more processors configured to execute the set of software instructions to:
(a) receive a request from an online server to create an online account with the online server for a user;
(b) in response to said request, generate a visual graphical code, wherein the visual graphical code is encoded with a validation identity that is associated with the online server or an online service provider that is operating the online server;
(c) acquire an image data of the visual graphical code from a user device of the user, wherein the image data is received along with an identification information related to the user;
(d) extract the validation identity by processing said image data to authenticate the online service provider;
(e) based on the validation identity, identify an online service provider associated with the online server;
(f) access a memory storage space to retrieve one or more pre-stored user information categories associated with the online service provider based on the identified online service provider, wherein the one or more pre-stored user information categories are requested by the online service provider to create an online account with the online service provider; and
(g) provide, based on the identification information related to the user, user information data according to the user information categories to the online server for the online account to be created with the online server.
13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the request received from the online server encodes an identity of the online server.
14 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to further consolidate different labels from different online serve providers into a label indicating a same user information category.

The system of claim 12 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to further identify the one or more user information categories that is not pre-stored in the memory storage space, and prompt the user to provide user information according to the identified one or more user information categories via the user device.
16 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the visual graphical code is a one-time barcode that is uniquely associated with opening the online account.
17 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the identification information related to the user comprises a device identifier of the user device.
18 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to further receive nonce data along with the image data for detecting a replay attack.

The system of claim 18 , wherein the nonce data comprises at least two of the following: (i) one or more operational parameters of the imaging, (ii) positional information about the imaging device or the user device, and (iii) characteristics of the image data derived from image processing of the image data.
20 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the nonce data comprises data about a location of the user touching on a touch screen of the user device.
