Claims

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to aerosol delivery devices. The aerosol delivery devices may include a housing and a cartridge including an atomizer and a reservoir configured to contain an aerosol precursor composition. The cartridge may be configured to move relative to at least a portion of the housing between a retracted configuration and an extended configuration. Related assembly methods are also provided.

         30 . An aerosol delivery device comprising:
 a housing;   a power source within the housing;   a controller within the housing;   a disposable cartridge receivable within the housing; and   an aerosol precursor composition within the disposable cartridge;   wherein, when the disposable cartridge is received within the housing, the aerosol precursor composition within the disposable cartridge is operatively arranged with a heater that is configured to receive power from the power source within the housing to heat the aerosol precursor composition and form an aerosol.   
     
     
         31 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 30 , wherein the disposable cartridge defines a first end and an opposing second end, wherein the aerosol precursor composition is proximate to the first end of the disposable cartridge, the first end of the disposable cartridge being received by an internal compartment defined in the housing. 
     
     
         32 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 31 , wherein the second end of the disposable cartridge extends external to the internal compartment of the housing when the first end of the disposable cartridge is received within the internal compartment. 
     
     
         33 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 31 , wherein the disposable cartridge comprises an outer body arranged to circumferentially extend around at least the aerosol precursor composition proximate the first end of the disposable cartridge. 
     
     
         34 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 31 , wherein a mouthpiece is formed proximate the second end of the disposable cartridge and is configured for passage of the aerosol therethrough. 
     
     
         35 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 34 , wherein an airflow path is defined through the disposable cartridge such that the aerosol is withdrawn therefrom in response to draw on the mouthpiece. 
     
     
         36 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 30 , wherein the housing comprises at least one of an input mechanism, an indicator, and a light emitter. 
     
     
         37 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 31 , wherein the housing defines a power source compartment in electrical communication with the internal compartment, the power source compartment housing the power source. 
     
     
         38 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 37 , wherein the internal compartment defines a first longitudinally-extending axis and the power source compartment defines a second longitudinally-extending axis, and wherein the first and second longitudinally-extending axes are non-coaxial and parallel to one another. 
     
     
         39 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 30 , wherein device comprises one or more operational modes. 
     
     
         40 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 30 , wherein the disposable cartridge is configured to remain stationary with respect to the housing when the disposable cartridge is received within the housing. 
     
     
         41 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 30 , wherein the controller is configured to direct the power from the power source to the heater to heat the aerosol precursor composition and form the aerosol. 
     
     
         42 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 30 , wherein the heater is a wire defining a plurality of coils. 
     
     
         43 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 30 , wherein the aerosol precursor composition includes tobacco and/or a glycol. 
     
     
         44 . The aerosol delivery device of  claim 30 , wherein the heater is arranged within the housing.
