Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide for magnetic particle conjugates, methods of making the magnetic particle conjugates, methods of using magnetic particle conjugates, micelles (also referred to as a “magnetic composite nanocarrier” (MCNC)), methods of making micelles, methods of using micelles, and the like.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A composition comprising: a magnetic particle conjugate having a magnetic particle and a polymer attached to the magnetic particle, wherein the polymer comprises a plurality of moieties having the following structure: 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         wherein N in each of the plurality of moieties is bonded to the polymer, wherein the agent includes a drug, a therapeutic agent, a radiological agent, or a biological agent 
       
     
     
         2 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein further comprising one or more biocompatible moieties. 
     
     
         3 . The composition of  claim 2 , wherein the biocompatible moieties are selected from one or more of the following groups: a PEG group, a poly (N-(2-Hydroxypropyl) methacrylamide) (PHPMA) group, a poly(PEGMA) group, a polyoxazoline group, and a polybetaine group. 
     
     
         4 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the polymer is selected from a block copolymer of poly(ethylene glycol), poly(oxazolines), poly(ε-caprolactone), poly(D/L-lactic acid), acrylamide-based monomers, methacrylamide-based monomers, acrylate-based monomers, or methacrylate-based monomers. 
     
     
         5 . A composition comprising: a magnetic particle conjugate having a magnetic particle and a polymer attached to the magnetic particle, wherein the polymer includes an agent (A gent ) bonded to the polymer through thermally degradable group Q, wherein the polymer is represented by the following: 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
       where the polymer has one or more Q-A gent  groups, wherein Q is selected from a retro-Diels-Alder-agent group or an azo group. 
     
     
         6 . The composition of  claim 5 , wherein Q is selected from a retro-Diels-Alder-agent group. 
     
     
         7 . The composition of  claim 5 , wherein the polymer is represented by: 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
       wherein one of the polymer or agent is optionally linked to the furan group through the 2 or 3 position, wherein the other of the polymer or agent is optionally linked to the N, wherein R is selected from the group consisting of: an alkoxy group (—CH 2 —O—), an alkyl group (—(CH 2 ) n —, and a ester group (—C(O)—O—). 
     
     
         8 . The composition of  claim 7 , wherein the polymer is linked to the furan group through the 2 or 3 position, wherein the agent is linked to the N, wherein R is selected from the group consisting of: an alkoxy group (—CH 2 —O—), an alkyl group (—(CH 2 ) n —, and a ester group (—C(O)—O—). 
     
     
         9 . The composition of  claim 8 , wherein the magnetic particle is a material selected from the group consisting of: Fe 3 O 4 , γFe 2 O 3 , αFe 2 O 3 , MnFe 2 O 4 , ZnFe 2 O 4 , or Mn 0.5 Zn 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 . 
     
     
         10 . The composition of  claim 8 , wherein the agent includes a drug, a therapeutic agent, a radiological agent, or a biological agent. 
     
     
         11 . The composition of  claim 10 , further comprising a targeting agent. 
     
     
         12 . The composition of  claim 8 , wherein the polymer fully encapsulates both the agent and the magnetic particles. 
     
     
         13 . The composition of  claim 7 , wherein one of the agent is linked to the furan group through the 2 or 3 position, wherein the other of the polymer is linked to the N, wherein R is selected from the group consisting of: an alkoxy group (—CH 2 —O—), an alkyl group (—(CH 2 ) n —, and a ester group (—C(O)—O—). 
     
     
         14 . The composition of  claim 13 , wherein the magnetic particle is a material selected from the group consisting of: Fe 3 O 4 , γFe 2 O 3 , αFe 2 O 3 , MnFe 2 O 4 , ZnFe 2 O 4,  or Mn 0.5 Zn 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 . 
     
     
         15 . The composition of  claim 13 , wherein the agent includes a drug, a therapeutic agent, a radiological agent, or a biological agent. 
     
     
         16 . The composition of  claim 15 , further comprising a targeting agent. 
     
     
         17 . The composition of  claim 13 , wherein the polymer fully encapsulates both the agent and the magnetic particles. 
     
     
         18 . The composition of  claim 5 , wherein Q and A are represented by the following structure: 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         wherein N is bonded to the polymer. 
       
     
     
         19 . The composition of  claim 18 , wherein the polymer fully encapsulates both the agent and the magnetic particles.
