Abstract
According to one embodiment, a method includes determining that a size of video data associated with a recording operation at a first recording device exceeds an amount of available storage space; selecting previously-stored video data for transfer to a second device; transferring the selected video data from the first recording device to the second device; and deleting the selected video data from the first recording device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method, comprising:
determining that a size of video data associated with a recording operation at a first recording device exceeds an amount of available storage space; selecting previously-stored video data for transfer to a second device; transferring the selected video data from the first recording device to the second device; and deleting the selected video data from the first recording device.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the recording operation is a present recording operation.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the recording operation is a future recording operation.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transferred video data is stored on the second device and made available for later output.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second device has more available storage space than the first recording device.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transferred video data is a duplicate of the video data originally stored.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transferred video data has a reduced quality from the video data originally stored.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first recording device is in wireless communication with a network.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first recording device is capable of:
recording video content, transmitting video content via wireless technique, and communicating with various handheld devices wirelessly.
10 . A computer program product embodied on a non-transitory computer readable medium, comprising:
code configured to determine that a size of video data associated with a recording operation at a first recording device exceeds an amount of available storage space; code configured to select previously-stored video data for transfer to a second device; code configured to transfer the selected video data from the first recording device to the second device; and code configured to delete the selected video data from the first recording device.
11 . The computer program product of claim 10 , wherein the recording operation is a present recording operation.
12 . The computer program product of claim 10 , wherein the recording operation is a future recording operation.
13 . The computer program product of claim 10 , wherein the transferred video data is stored on the second device and made available for later output.
14 . The computer program product of claim 10 , wherein the second device has more available storage space than the first recording device.
15 . The computer program product of claim 10 , wherein the transferred video data is a duplicate of the video data originally stored.
16 . The computer program product of claim 10 , wherein the transferred video data has a reduced quality from the video data originally stored.
17 . The computer program product of claim 10 , wherein the first recording device is in wireless communication with a network.
18 . The computer program product of claim 10 , wherein the first recording device is capable of:
recording video content, transmitting video content via wireless technique, and communicating with various handheld devices wirelessly.
19 . A system comprising:
a memory system; and one or more processors coupled to the memory system and that are each configured to: determine that a size of video data associated with a recording operation at a first recording device exceeds an amount of available storage space; select previously-stored video data for transfer to a second device; transfer the selected video data from the first recording device to the second device; and delete the selected video data from the first recording device.
20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the first recording device is in wireless communication with a network.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
