Abstract

A determination is made whether each predetermined bit of a plurality of predetermined bits of a Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS) scheduling assignment for a user equipment (UE) has a respective predetermined value required to validate the SPS scheduling assignment. In circumstances where each predetermined bit of the plurality of predetermined bits of a Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS) scheduling assignment is determined to have a respective predetermined value required to validate the SPS scheduling assignment, an action corresponding to SPS is performed. In circumstances where at least one predetermined bit of the plurality of predetermined bits of an SPS scheduling assignment is determined to fail to have a respective predetermined value required to validate the SPS scheduling assignment, the SPS scheduling assignment is discarded and the action is not performed.

Claims

What is claimed:

1 . A terminal apparatus for communicating in a communication system comprising:
a transceiver configured to receive a scheduling assignment including down link control information; a comparator configured to determine whether a first information element (IE) of the down link control information is set with a first predetermined value and whether at least one bit in a second IE of the down link control information is set with a second predetermined value; and a terminal controller configured to validate that the scheduling assignment is a semi-persistent scheduling based on a result of a determination by the comparator that the first IE of the down link control information is set with the first predetermined value and the at least one bit in the second IE of the down link control information is set with the second predetermined value, wherein in response to validating that the scheduling assignment is a semi-persistent scheduling, the terminal controller is configured to perform an action corresponding to the semi-persistent scheduling of the terminal apparatus.

2 . The terminal apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the action includes data signal transmission by the transceiver based on the scheduling assignment.

3 . The terminal apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the terminal controller is further configured to disregard the scheduling assignment if any bit in the first IE of the down link control information is not set with the first predetermined value or the at least one bit in the second IE of the down link control information is not set with the second predetermined value.

4 . The terminal apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the scheduling assignment is for semi-persistent scheduling, and wherein the first IE of the down link control information comprises a redundancy version.

5 . The terminal apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the scheduling assignment is for semi-persistent scheduling, and wherein the second IE of the down link control information comprises a modulation and coding scheme.

6 . The terminal apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the scheduling assignment is for semi-persistent scheduling, and wherein the first IE of the down link control information comprises a cyclic shift indicator.

7 . The terminal apparatus of claim 6 , wherein the second IE of the down link control information comprises a modulation and coding scheme.

8 . The terminal apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the scheduling assignment comprises predetermined bits of a Physical Resource Block (PRB) Allocation IE of the scheduling assignment.

9 . A terminal apparatus for communicating in a communication system comprising:
a transceiver configured to receive a scheduling assignment including down link control information; a comparator configured to determine whether the down link control information includes a predetermined value; and a terminal controller configured to validate that the scheduling assignment is a semi-persistent scheduling based on a result of a determination by the comparator that the down link control information includes a predetermined value, wherein in response to validating that the scheduling assignment is a semi-persistent scheduling, the terminal controller is configured to perform an action corresponding to the semi-persistent scheduling of the terminal apparatus.

10 . The terminal apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the action includes data signal transmission by the transceiver based on the scheduling assignment.

11 . The terminal apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the terminal controller is further configured to disregard the scheduling assignment if the down link control information does not include the predetermined value.

12 . The terminal apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the scheduling assignment is for semi-persistent scheduling, and wherein the down link control information comprises a redundancy version.

13 . The terminal apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the scheduling assignment is for semi-persistent scheduling, and wherein the down link control information comprises a modulation and coding scheme.

14 . A method for a terminal for communicating in a communication system comprising:
receiving a scheduling assignment including down link control information; determining whether a first information element (IE) of the down link control information is set with a first predetermined value and whether at least one bit in a second IE of the down link control information is set with a second predetermined value; validating that the scheduling assignment is a semi-persistent scheduling based on a result of a determination that the first IE of the down link control information is set with the first predetermined value and the at least one bit in the second IE of the down link control information is set with the second predetermined value; and in response to validating that the scheduling assignment is a semi-persistent scheduling, performing an action corresponding to the semi-persistent scheduling of the terminal.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the action includes transmitting a data signal based on the scheduling assignment.

16 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising:
detecting that a bit in the first IE of the down link control information is not set with the first predetermined value or the at least one bit in the second IE of the down link control information is not set with the second predetermined value, and in response to the detecting, disregarding the scheduling assignment.
