Compositions and methods for treating an aggregation disease or disorder

Abstract

The present invention alleviates a sign or symptom of an aggregation disease or disorder by administering an aqueous formulation comprising trehalose.

A method for treating or alleviating one or more symptoms of Corticobasal degeneration (CBD) in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering an aqueous formulation comprising a single active ingredient consisting of trehalose, and wherein the trehalose is present in an amount of about 9% to about 11% (w/w/). 
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the aqueous formulation is administered once per day. 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the aqueous formulation is administered once per week. 
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the aqueous formulation is administered once per month. 
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 22 , wherein the total amount of trehalose administered is about 5 grams to about 50 grams.

A method for treating or alleviating one or more symptoms of Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering an aqueous formulation comprising a single active ingredient consisting of trehalose, and wherein the trehalose is present in an amount of about 9% to about 11% (w/w/).
