Abstract

A system and method for providing fertilizer for crop production in an aqueous solution comprising nano-sized fertilizer particles, which are free of any chemical side chain and free any micelle to protect the nano-sized particle from re-agglomeration, suspended therein for improved uptake by the population of the crop.

         28 . A nanoparticulated fertilizer composition comprising:
 an effective amount of a nanoparticulated mineral for fertilizing a plant, wherein the nanoparticulated mineral comprises calcium;   wherein the nanoparticulated mineral is added to an amount of ultrapure water to thereby create a first volume of aqueous solution; and   wherein an effective amount of the nanoparticulated fertilizer composition is less than 50% of a corresponding standard fertilizer composition for a predetermined application rate.   
     
     
         29 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein the effective amount of the nanoparticulated mineral contained within the nanoparticulated fertilizer composition is less than 50% of a calcium component of a corresponding standard fertilizer composition. 
     
     
         30 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein the effective amount of the nanoparticulated fertilizer composition is less than 5% of the corresponding standard fertilizer composition. 
     
     
         31 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein the effective amount of the nanoparticulated mineral contained within the nanoparticulated fertilizer composition is less than 5% of a calcium component of a corresponding standard fertilizer composition. 
     
     
         32 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein the ultrapure water comprises a purity level that falls within a range of about 12 mega ohms to about 18.3 mega ohms. 
     
     
         33 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein an average size of fertilizer nanoparticles in the nanoparticulated fertilizer composition is less than or equal to 100 nanometers or less in any one dimension. 
     
     
         34 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein an average size of fertilizer nanoparticles in the nanoparticulated fertilizer composition is less than or equal to 50 nanometers or less in any one dimension. 
     
     
         35 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein the ultrapure water comprises a purity level of at least 0.5 mega ohms. 
     
     
         36 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , further comprising an effective amount of a nanoparticulated phosphorous-rich material for fertilizer the plant. 
     
     
         37 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , further comprising an effective amount of a nanoparticulated iron-rich material for fertilizing the plant. 
     
     
         38 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , further comprising an effective amount of a nanoparticulated nitrogen-rich material for fertilizing the plant. 
     
     
         39 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , further comprising an effective amount of a nanoparticulated potassium-rich material for fertilizing the plant. 
     
     
         40 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein the nanoparticulated mineral is present in the nanoparticulated fertilizer composition at a concentration that is less than or equal to 50% of a corresponding standard fertilizer composition by weight percent.

The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein the nanoparticulated mineral is present in the nanoparticulated fertilizer composition at a concentration that is less than or equal to 5% of a corresponding standard fertilizer composition by weight percent.

The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein the nanoparticulated mineral is present in the nanoparticulated fertilizer composition at a concentration that is less than or equal to 0.5% of a corresponding standard fertilizer composition by weight percent. 
     
     
         43 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein an average size of the nanoparticulated mineral is optimized such that the plant uptakes the nanoparticulated mineral without requiring further breakdown. 
     
     
         44 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein water molecules of the ultrapure water stabilize around the nanoparticulated mineral comprising calcium. 
     
     
         45 . The nanoparticulated fertilizer composition of  claim 28 , wherein the amount of the ultrapure water is selected for optimizing an average size of the nanoparticulated mineral such that the plant uptakes the nanoparticulated mineral without further breakdown.
