Magnetic goggle lens changing system
Abstract
A goggle lens is configured for use with a goggle frame having a frame body and a pair of frame engagement members positioned at respective lateral end portions of the frame body. The goggle lens includes a lens rim, and a lens element that is transparent to allow a user to view through the lens element. A pair of lens engagement members are coupled to respective lateral end portions of the lens rim. The pair of lens engagement members are selectively engageable with respective ones of the pair of frame engagement members. The pair of lens engagement members include a locking lens engagement member comprising a first element coupled to the lens rim, and a second element moveably coupled to the first element for facilitating selective engagement and disengagement with the respective one of the pair of frame engagement members.

7 . The goggle of claim 1 , wherein the lens assembly and the frame are engageable via the first and second magnetically attractable connectors independent of the lens assembly and the frame being engaged via the attachment body and the locking tab.
8 . A goggle comprising:
a lens assembly comprising at least one lens, a lens frame, and an attachment body; and a frame assembly comprising a frame having a channel formed therein, the frame assembly and lens assembly being releasably coupled together via magnetic means and mechanical means, wherein:
the magnetic means comprises a first magnetically attractable connector located on the lens frame and a second magnetically attractable connector located on the frame; and
the mechanical means comprises the attachment body of the lens assembly and a locking tab received in the channel, the locking tab comprising a finger gripping body and a locking body, the locking body engageable with the attachment body of the lens assembly, and the finger gripping body located to be exposed on an exterior of the frame.
9 . The goggle of claim 8 , wherein the locking body comprising a recess sized and configured to receive a portion of the attachment body of the lens assembly therein.
10 . The goggle of claim 8 , wherein the locking tab is slidably coupled to the frame within the channel, the locking tab slidable between an unlocked position in which the frame assembly and the lens assembly are mechanically uncoupled from each other and a locked position in which the frame assembly and the lens assembly are mechanically coupled together.
11 . The goggle of claim 8 , wherein the lens assembly comprising at least one lens and a lens frame comprises two lens coupled to opposing surfaces of the lens frame.
12 . The goggle of claim 8 , wherein:
the frame comprises an upper portion, a lower portion having a flexible nose bridge segment, and a pair of side portions extending between the upper and lower portions, the second magnetically attractable connector is located on one of the upper portion and the lower portion, and the channel located in one of the side portions.
13 . The goggle of claim 12 , wherein the magnetic means further comprises a third magnetically attractable connector located on the lens frame and a fourth magnetically attractable connector located on the frame, and wherein the second and fourth magnetically attractable connectors are located on the upper portion of the frame.
14 . The goggle of claim 8 , wherein the lens assembly and the frame assembly are engaged via the magnetic means independent of the lens assembly and the frame assembly being engaged via the mechanical means.
15 . The goggle of claim 8 , wherein the attachment body includes a shaft and a distal head, the distal head being enlarged relative to the shaft.
16 . The goggle of claim 8 , wherein the lens frame further comprises a third magnetically attractable connector thereon in spaced relation to the first magnetically attractable connector, and wherein the frame further comprises a fourth magnetically attractable connector thereon in spaced relation to the second magnetically attractable connector.
17 . An assembly comprising;
a frame defining a frame opening, the frame comprising:
a first magnetically attractable connector; and
a locking tab slidably engaged with the frame such that the locking tab is translatable between an unlocked position and a locked position, the locking tab comprising a recess sized and configured to receive an attachment body of a lens assembly therein; and
a plurality of lens assemblies, each lens assembly sized to extend over the frame opening and configured to be magnetically and mechanically engageable with the frame, each lens assembly comprising:
