Abstract

The presently disclosed subject matter relates to the administration of a KMT2D inhibitor for the treatment of a cancer. The present invention is based on the discovery that upon PI3K inhibition, KMT2D activity is upregulated, resulting in an increase in the expression of genes involved in breast cancer cell proliferation and tumor growth. Accordingly, the present invention provides methods for treating a subject that has cancer by administering a therapeutically effective amount of an KMT2D inhibitor.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A pharmaceutical formulation for treating a cancer comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a KMT2D inhibitor, a therapeutically effective amount of a P13Kα inhibitor and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

2 . The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 1 , wherein the cancer is breast cancer.

3 . The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 1 , wherein the breast is an ER-positive breast cancer.

4 . The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 1 , wherein the PI3Kα inhibitor is BYL719.

5 . The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 1 , wherein the breast is an ER-positive breast cancer.

         6 . A kit for treating a cancer comprising a KMT2D inhibitor and a P13Kα inhibitor.

         7 . The kit of claim 6 , wherein the PI3Kα inhibitor is BYL719.

8 . The kit of claim 6 , wherein the cancer is breast cancer.
