Abstract

Delivery parcel detection systems can include a doorbell having a first wireless communication system and a parcel holding system configured for placement in an entryway. The doorbell can be communicatively coupled to the parcel holding system. The parcel holding system can comprise a sensor configured to detect a delivery parcel located on the parcel holding system. Systems can include a first communication sent from the parcel holding system to the doorbell in response to the parcel holding system detecting an arrival, a movement, or a removal of the delivery parcel. Systems can also include a second communication sent from the doorbell to a remote computing device in response to the doorbell receiving the first communication.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A delivery parcel detection system, the system comprising:
a first communication system; a second communication system; and at least a first sensor communicatively coupled to the first communication system by the second communication system, wherein the first sensor is configured:
to detect a delivery of a delivery parcel; and
 to detect a removal of a delivery parcel;
wherein the first sensor is configured to send a communication to the first communication system using the second communication system of at least a first indication of the first sensor detecting at least one of:
the delivery of a delivery parcel; and
the removal of the delivery parcel.

2 . The delivery parcel detection system of claim 1 , wherein the first communication system is configured to communicate with a remote device.

3 . The delivery parcel detection system of claim 2 , wherein the first communication system is housed within a doorbell.

4 . The delivery parcel detection system of claim 1 , wherein the first communication system is housed within a doorbell.

5 . The delivery parcel detection system of claim 1 , wherein the first sensor is a motion detector.

6 . The delivery parcel system of claim 5 , further comprising a camera, wherein the camera is communicatively coupled to the motion detector and configured to take a camera image upon the motion detector detecting at least one of:
the delivery of a delivery parcel; and the removal of the delivery parcel.

7 . The delivery parcel system of claim 6 , wherein the camera image is selected from the group consisting of a still frame image and a video.

8 . The delivery parcel system of claim 7 , wherein the first indication is the camera image.

9 . The delivery parcel system of claim 8 , wherein the first communication system is configured to communicate with a remote device upon receiving the communication of the first indication from the second communication system.

10 . The delivery parcel system of claim 8 , further comprising an image recognition system configured to analyze the camera image.

11 . The delivery parcel system of claim 8 , further comprising a doorbell and a housing for the doorbell.

12 . The delivery parcel system of claim 11 , wherein the housing includes:
a speaker communicatively coupled to a remote device by the first communication system; and a microphone communicatively coupled to a remote device by the first communication system.

13 . The delivery parcel system of claim 1 , further comprising a camera, wherein the camera is communicatively coupled to the first communication system and configured to take a camera image upon the first sensor detecting at least one of:
the delivery of a delivery parcel; and the removal of the delivery parcel.

14 . The delivery parcel system of claim 13 , wherein the camera image is selected from the group consisting of a still frame image and a video.

15 . The delivery parcel system of claim 14 , wherein the first indication is the camera image.

16 . The delivery parcel system of claim 15 , further comprising an image recognition system configured to analyze the camera image.

17 . The delivery parcel system of claim 16 , wherein the first communication system is configured to communicate with a remote device upon receiving the communication of the first indication from the second communication system.

18 . The delivery parcel system of claim 17 , further comprising a doorbell and a housing for the doorbell.

19 . The delivery parcel system of claim 18 , wherein the housing includes:
a speaker communicatively coupled to a remote device by the first communication system; and a microphone communicatively coupled to a remote device by the first communication system.

20 . The delivery parcel system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a camera, wherein the camera is communicatively coupled to the first communication system and configured to take a camera image upon the first sensor detecting at least one of:
the delivery of a delivery parcel; and
the removal of the delivery parcel; and
an image recognition system configured to analyze the camera image, wherein the camera image is selected from the group consisting of a still frame image and a video.
