Channeled Fence Post for Building Horizontal Fence, Method of Creating Horizontal Fence and Method for Manufacture of Fence Post

Abstract

A channeled fence post system and method is provided for building horizontal fencing. 2 J-channeled metal posts are attached back to back and provide holes through which boards can be mounted horizontally with the mounting connectors hidden from the front face of the fence. Decorative covers can be selectively affixed to the posts.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A modular channeled fencing system, the system comprising:
 two or more vertical dual channeled posts, each of the two or more dual channeled posts comprising a long arm side and a short arm side, each long arm side and short arm side further comprising one or more guide holes;   a plurality of mounting connectors sized to fit in the one or more guide holes;   one or more backing members mountable to the channel posts with the mounting connectors;   one or more post covers; and   one or more connecting members to selectively attach at least one of the one or more post covers to a post.   
     
     
         2 . The channeled fencing system of  claim 1 , wherein the dual channeled posts are formed by joining two single channel J posts. 
     
     
         3 . The channeled fencing system of  claim 1 , wherein the dual channeled post is a unitary piece formed from extruded aluminum. 
     
     
         4 . The channeled fencing system of  claim 1 , wherein one or more backing members can be modularly and selectively mounted to the long arm side, the short arm side or disposed in one or more channel of the dual channels of the post. 
     
     
         5 . A channeled fencing system, the system comprising:
 2 or more vertical J-channeled posts, each J-channel post having one or more guide holes and comprising a long arm and a short arm, and each of the 2 Channeled Fence Post for Building Horizontal Fence, Method of Creating Horizontal Fence and Method for Manufacture of Fence Post or more J-channel posts being connected to form a dual channeled unitary post such that the short arms are on a first side and the long arms are on a second side;   a plurality of mounting connectors sized to fit in the guide holes; and   one or more backing member upon which the 2 or more J-channeled posts are mountable to the joined J-channel posts with the mounting connectors.   
     
     
         6 . The channeled fencing system of  claim 5 , further comprising and wherein the unitary post is a unitary piece. 
     
     
         7 . The channeled fencing system of  claim 5 , further comprising one or more post covers and one or more connecting members to selectively attach at least one of the one or more post covers to a post. 
     
     
         8 . A vertical channeled fencing post, the post comprising:
 2 or more vertical J-channeled posts, each J-channel post having one or more guide holes and comprising a long arm and a short arm, and each of the 2 or more J-channel posts being connected to form a dual channeled unitary post, such that the short arms are on a first side and the long arms are on a second side, upon which a plurality of backing members are mountable, the long arm and the short arm each further comprising a plurality of guide holes to receive complementary mounting connectors.

The vertical channeled fencing post of  claim 8 , wherein the post is a component of a vertical channeled fencing system, the system further Channeled Fence Post for Building Horizontal Fence, Method of Creating Horizontal Fence and Method for Manufacture of Fence Post comprising one or more post covers and one or more connecting members to selectively attach at least one of the one or more post covers to a post.
