Side securement assembly for a garment

Abstract

A securement assembly for a garment which includes a pocket positioned on a side panel of the garment. The securement assembly further includes an insert panel connected to a front portion of the garment such that the insert panel rotates relative to the front portion for inserting the insert panel into the pocket.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . A securement assembly for a garment which comprises:
 a pocket positioned on a side panel of the garment; and   an insert panel connected to a front panel of the garment such that the insert panel rotates relative to the front panel for inserting the insert panel into the pocket.   
     
     
         2 . The securement assembly of  claim 1 , wherein a hinge is positioned between the front panel and the insert panel. 
     
     
         3 . The securement assembly of  claim 2 , wherein the hinge comprises:
 a first textile sheet portion, which overlies a front portion of the front panel and a front portion of the insert panel; and   a second textile sheet portion, which overlies a backside of the front panel and a backside of the insert panel.   
     
     
         4 . The securement assembly of  claim 3 , the hinge further comprises:
 a first seam joining the first textile sheet portion to the second textile sheet portion and extends from a top portion of the front panel of the garment to a bottom portion of the front panel of the garment; and   a second seam joining the first textile sheet portion to the second textile sheet portion extends from a top portion of the insert panel of the garment to a bottom portion of the insert panel of the garment and extends along and spaced apart from the first seam.   
     
     
         5 . The securement assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the insert panel comprises an insert member positioned between a first textile sheet portion, which overlies a front portion of the insert panel and a second textile sheet portion which overlies a backside of the insert panel. 
     
     
         6 . The securement assembly of  claim 1 , wherein a handle is secured to the insert panel. 
     
     
         7 . The securement assembly of  claim 6 , wherein the handle is secured to the insert panel such that the handle rotates relative to the insert panel. 
     
     
         8 . The securement assembly of  claim 1 , wherein a first panel is secured to a backside of the insert panel and the first panel carries a releasable securement mating material. 
     
     
         9 . The securement assembly of  claim 8 , wherein:
 a second panel is secured to a first wall portion positioned within the pocket and carries the releasable securement mating material; and   the releasable securement mating material of the first panel includes at least one of a plurality of hooks or a plurality of loops and the second panel includes at least one of the plurality of hooks or the plurality of loops, such that with the releasable securement mating material of the first panel having the plurality of hooks, the releasable securement mating material of the second panel has the plurality of loops providing releasable securement between the first panel and the second panel or with the first panel having the plurality of loops the second panel has the plurality of hooks providing releasable securement between the first panel and the second panel.   
     
     
         10 . The securement assembly of  claim 9 , wherein:
 a third panel is secured to an outside wall of the pocket and a fourth panel is secured to a backside of the front panel of the garment;   the third panel carries the releasable securement mating material;   the fourth panel carries the releasable securement mating material; and   the releasable securement mating material of the third panel includes at least one of the plurality of hooks or the plurality of loops and the fourth panel includes at least one of the plurality of hooks or the plurality of loops, such that with the releasable securement mating material of the third panel having the plurality of hooks, the releasable securement mating material of the fourth panel has the plurality of loops providing releasable securement between the third panel and the fourth panel or with the third panel having the plurality of loops and the fourth panel has the plurality of hooks providing releasable securement between the third panel and the fourth panel.   
     
     
         11 . The securement assembly of  claim 9 , with the insert panel positioned within the pocket with the releasable securement mating material carried by the first panel and the releasable securement mating material carried by the second panel, the first panel and the second panel are releasably secured together and a handle, which is secured to the insert panel, is positioned between the insert panel and a second wall portion of the pocket. 
     
     
         12 . The securement assembly of  claim 11 , with the insert panel is positioned within the pocket, the handle extends along a length of the pocket and extends toward an opening defined by the pocket. 
     
     
         13 . The securement assembly of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the side panel includes a second side panel;   the side panel and the second side panel are connected together; and   an elastic cord which extends through a plurality of first loops positioned along a first back end of the side panel and extends through a plurality of second loops positioned along a second back end of the second side panel.   
     
     
         14 . The securement assembly of  claim 13 , wherein a length, of the side panel and the second side panel connected together, is adjustable with positioning of a cord lock along the elastic cord and relative to a first end and a second end of the elastic cord. 
     
     
         15 . The securement assembly of  claim 13 , wherein a panel is secured to an external backside of the garment and defines a first slot and defines a second slot such that a portion of the side panel extends through the first slot and a portion of the second side panel extends through the second slot. 
     
     
         16 . A method of securing a garment with a securement assembly, comprising the steps of:
 rotating an insert panel connected to a front panel of the garment such that the insert panel rotates relative to the front panel; and   inserting the insert panel into a pocket positioned on a side panel of the garment.   
     
     
         17 . The method of securing of  claim 16 , wherein:
 the insert panel includes an insert member positioned within the insert panel; and   a hinge is positioned between the insert panel and the front panel of the garment.   
     
     
         18 . The method of securing of  claim 16 , wherein:
 the side panel includes a second side panel:   the side panel and the second side panel are connected together; and   an elastic cord which extends through a plurality of first loops positioned along a first back end of the side panel and extends through a plurality of second loops positioned along a second back end of the second side panel, wherein a length, of the side panel and the second side panel connected together, is adjustable with positioning of a cord lock along the elastic cord and relative to a first end and a second end of the elastic cord.   
     
     
         19 . The method of securing of  claim 16 , wherein inserting further comprising:
 securing a first panel to a second panel, wherein:
 the first panel is secured to a backside of the insert panel and the first panel carries a releasable securement mating material. 
 the second panel is secured to a first wall portion positioned within the pocket and carries a releasable securement mating material; 
 the releasable securement mating material of the first panel includes at least one of a plurality of hooks or a plurality of loops and the second panel includes at least one of the plurality of hooks or the plurality of loops, such that with the releasable securement mating material of the first panel having the plurality of hooks, the releasable securement mating material of the second panel has the plurality of loops providing releasable securement between the first panel and the second panel or with the first panel having the plurality of loops the second panel has the plurality of hooks providing releasable securement between the first panel and the second panel; and 
 a handle secured to the insert panel is positioned between the insert panel and a second wall portion of the pocket. 
   
     
     
         20 . The method of securing of  claim 19 , wherein further comprising:
 securing a third panel to a fourth panel, wherein:
 the third panel is secured to an outside wall of the pocket and the fourth panel is secured to a backside of the front panel of the garment; 
 the third panel carries the releasable securement mating material; 
 the fourth panel carries the releasable securement mating material; and 
 the releasable securement mating material of the third panel includes at least one of the plurality of hooks or the plurality of loops and the fourth panel includes at least one of the plurality of hooks or the plurality of loops, such that with the releasable securement mating material of the third panel having the plurality of hooks, the releasable securement mating material of the fourth panel has the plurality of loops providing releasable securement between the third panel and the fourth panel or with the third panel having the plurality of loops the fourth panel has the plurality of hooks providing releasable securement between the third panel and the fourth panel.
