System and method for holographic displays

Abstract

A holographic display can include a light source configured to output light; a parallax generator optically coupled to the light source; an optical volume, where the light is perceivable as a three dimensional image within the optical volume; optionally, a flip controller; and, optionally, a viewcone expander.

We claim: 
     
         1 . An autostereoscopic display comprising:
 a light source configured to output light associated with a plurality of views;   a lenticular array optically coupled to the light source, wherein each view of the plurality of views is directed in a different direction by the lenticular array;   a frame defining an optical volume optically coupled to the lenticular array, wherein the plurality of views are perceivable as a three dimensional image within the optical volume; and   a privacy screen comprising a microlouver array a predetermined distance from the lenticular array.
