Converting static exchange items into dynamic exchange items
Abstract
A method for execution by a marketplace server of a marketplace computing network includes determining to convert a first exchange item of a plurality of exchange items from a static exchange item into a dynamic exchange item. The method further includes obtaining static bits of a static identifier associated with the first exchange item. The method further includes generating dynamic bits based on security parameters associated with the first exchange item. The method further includes performing a dynamic securing function to combine at least a portion of the static bits with at least a portion of the dynamic bits to produce a dynamic identifier. The method further includes updating, in a marketplace database of the marketplace computing network, a first record associated with the first exchange item to include the dynamic identifier.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for execution by a marketplace server of a marketplace computing network, the method comprises:
determining to convert a first exchange item of a plurality of exchange items from a static exchange item into a dynamic exchange item, wherein the converting includes: obtaining static bits of a static identifier associated with the first exchange item;
generating dynamic bits based on security parameters associated with the first exchange item;
performing a dynamic securing function to combine at least a portion of the static bits with at least a portion of the dynamic bits to produce a dynamic identifier; and
updating, in a marketplace database of the marketplace computing network, a first record associated with the first exchange item to include the dynamic identifier.
2 . The method of claim 1 further comprises:
sending the dynamic identifier an owner computing device associated with the first exchange item.
3 . The method of claim 2 further comprises:
sending a notification to the owner computing device, wherein the notification indicates the static identifier is invalid for use in the marketplace computing network.
4 . The method of claim 1 further comprises:
receiving a use request regarding utilizing the first exchange item in the marketplace computing network;
determining whether the use request includes the dynamic identifier; and
when the use request includes the dynamic identifier, facilitating executing of the use request regarding the first exchange item.
5 . The method of claim 4 further comprises:
when the use request does not include the dynamic identifier, denying the use request regarding the first exchange item.
6 . The method of claim 1 further comprises:
determining to convert a second exchange item of the plurality of exchange items from a second static exchange item into a second dynamic exchange item, wherein the converting includes:
obtaining second static bits of a second static identifier associated with the second exchange item;
generating second dynamic bits based on second security parameters associated with the second exchange item;
performing a second dynamic securing function to combine at least a portion of the second static bits with at least a portion of the second dynamic bits to produce a second dynamic identifier; and
updating, in the marketplace database, a second record associated with the second exchange item to include the second dynamic identifier.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining to convert the first exchange item is based on receiving a conversion request.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining to convert the first exchange item is based on a predetermination.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining to convert the first exchange item is based on interpreting an exchange item rule associated with the first exchange item.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining to convert the first exchange item is based on determining a security issue.
11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining to convert the first exchange item is based on determining a time period has lapsed.
12 . The method of claim 1 further comprises:
detecting use of the first exchange item; and
when the detected use is in accordance with the dynamic identifier, processing the use of the first exchange item.
13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the static identifier comprises:
an exchange item serial number and an exchange item issuer identifier, wherein the exchange item serial number is issued at creation of the exchange item.
14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining to convert the first exchange item is based on one or more of:
receiving a conversion request from an owner computing device that is associated with the first exchange item; and identifying a standard procedure of converting the first exchange item based on at least one of: a particular processor server, a particular brand server, and a particular distributor server.
15 . The method of claim 1 further comprises:
updating a secure chain of custody of the first exchange item to include the dynamic identifier and to include an indication that use of the static identifier has been suspended in favor of use of the dynamic identifier within the marketplace computing network.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the updating the secure chain of custody of the first exchange item comprises:
creating a secure data block regarding the dynamic identifier, wherein the secure data block is included in the secure chain of custody of the first exchange item, wherein the secure data block incudes a header section and a transaction section, and wherein the transaction section includes information regarding the dynamic identifier and the indication that use of the static identifier has been suspended in favor of use of the dynamic identifier.
17 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the producing the dynamic identifier further comprises:
determining, based on a combiner function, particular ones of the static bits to be replaced by the at least a portion of the dynamic bits.
18 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dynamic bits are generated based on applying a deterministic function on at least part of exchange item information associated with the first exchange item.
19 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dynamic bits are generated based on applying an encoding function on at least part of exchange item information associated with the first exchange item.
20 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dynamic bits are generated based on applying a encryption function on at least part of exchange item information associated with the first exchange item.Cited by (0)
