Abstract

Wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) devices that are not associated with a specific wireless carrier can be contractually operated as an extension of the specific Wi-Fi carrier. In this case, a display screen of a mobile device, that is currently communicating with the Wi-Fi device as an extension of the carrier, can display the carrier info. The display can be a result of a comparison between an internal mobile device data store and/or an external list that comprises the Wi-Fi devices that are acting as extensions of the carrier for a 5G network.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method, comprising:
 in response to a time duration being determined to have lapsed, sending, by a device comprising a processor, request data, representative of a request, to a base station via a network;   receiving, by the device in response to the sending of the request data, first Wi-Fi device data representative of a Wi-Fi device determined to be associated with the network;   in response to the device connecting to the Wi-Fi device, receiving, by the device from the Wi-Fi device, second Wi-Fi device data; and   based on a result of comparing the first Wi-Fi device data and the second Wi-Fi device data, facilitating, by the device, displaying, via a display screen of the device, service provider data representative of an identity of a service provider associated with the network.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the facilitating of the displaying is in response to a condition, associated with the connecting of the device to the Wi-Fi device, being determined to be satisfied. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the condition is a function of a relationship between the Wi-Fi device and the service provider. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising:
 in response to the condition being determined to no longer be satisfied, ceasing, by the device, the displaying of the service provider data.   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the identity of the service provider is a first identity, and wherein the second Wi-Fi device data comprises Wi-Fi device identity data representative of a second identity of the Wi-Fi device. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the facilitating of the displaying comprises facilitating the displaying, via the display screen of the device, of the service provider data without facilitating displaying of the Wi-Fi device identity data. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the receiving of the first Wi-Fi device data comprises downloading a data structure representative of Wi-Fi devices associated with the network, the data structure comprising the first Wi-Fi device data. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the time duration is a first time duration, and wherein the method further comprises:
 in response to the device being determined to be outside of a geographic threshold associated with the base station for at least a second time duration, modifying, by the device, the data structure.   
     
     
         9 . A system, comprising:
 a processor; and   a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:
 in response to a defined time interval being determined to have lapsed, 
 transmitting request data, representative of a request originating from a user equipment, to network equipment via a network; 
 receiving, in response to transmitting the request data, first Wi-Fi device data representative of a Wi-Fi device communicatively coupled to the network; 
 in response to the user equipment connecting to the Wi-Fi device, receiving, from the Wi-Fi device, second Wi-Fi device data; and 
 based on a result of comparing the first Wi-Fi device data and the second Wi-Fi device data, displaying service provider data, representative of an identity of a service provider associated with the network, via a display of the user equipment. 
   
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the displaying of the service provider data is in response to a relationship between the Wi-Fi device and the service provider being determined to be established. 
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the identity of the service provider is a first identity, and wherein the second Wi-Fi device data comprises device identity data representative of a second identity of the Wi-Fi device. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the displaying of the service provider data comprises displaying the service provider data via the display of the user equipment without displaying the device identity data. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the receiving of the first Wi-Fi device data comprises receiving a data structure representative of Wi-Fi devices associated with the network, the data structure comprising the first Wi-Fi device data. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the defined time interval is a first defined time interval, and wherein the operations further comprise:
 in response to the user equipment being determined to be outside of a geographic threshold associated with the network equipment for at least a second defined time interval, revising the data structure.   
     
     
         15 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:
 in response to expiry of a time interval, sending request data, representative of a request by a user device, to an access point via a network;   receiving, in response to sending the request data, first Wi-Fi device data representative of a Wi-Fi device associated with the network;   in response to the user device connecting to the Wi-Fi device, receiving, from the Wi-Fi device, second Wi-Fi device data; and   based on a result of comparing the first Wi-Fi device data and the second Wi-Fi device data, displaying service provider data, representative of an identity of a service provider associated with the network, via a display screen of the user device.   
     
     
         16 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 15 , wherein the displaying is in response to a relationship between the Wi-Fi device and the service provider being determined to be established. 
     
     
         17 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 15 , wherein the identity of the service provider is a first identity, and wherein the second Wi-Fi device data comprises device identity data representative of a second identity of the Wi-Fi device. 
     
     
         18 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 17 , wherein the displaying comprises displaying the service provider data via the display screen of the user device without displaying the device identity data. 
     
     
         19 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 15 , wherein the receiving of the first Wi-Fi device data comprises receiving a list of Wi-Fi devices associated with the network, the list of Wi-Fi devices comprising the first Wi-Fi device data. 
     
     
         20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 19 , wherein the time interval is a first time interval, and wherein the operations further comprise:
 in response to a determination that the user device is outside of a geographic threshold associated with the access point for at least a second time interval, changing the list of Wi-Fi devices with respect to a status of the user device.
