Abstract
Suggested is a semiconductor nano-sized light emitting material having a ligand.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 16 . (canceled)
17 . A compound of formula (I)
in which
M stands for a bivalent metal,
X stands for —O— or —S— or —NR 2 —;
Y 1 stands for —O— or —S—;
R 1 , R 2 stand independently from each other for an alkyl, alkenyl, alkenyl, aryl and/or aralkyl chain having 12-18 carbon atoms, optionally substituted by a functional group; or a group according to formula (II) and/or (III)
—(CHR 5 ) x (O(CHR 5 ) y2 —NR 3 R 4 (II)
—CH 2 CHR 5 O) z R 6 (III)
R 3 , R 4 stand independently from each other linear or branched alkyl chains having 1 to 6 carbon atoms;
R 5 stands for hydrogen or methyl;
R 6 stands for an alkyl chain having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, optionally substituted by a functional group;
x, y2 stand independently from each other for integers of from 1 to 5; and
z stands for an integer of from 1 to 30.
18 . The compound of claim 17 having the structure
wherein M is a bivalent metal,
R1 and R2 are each independently an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl and/or aralkyl chain having 13-18 carbon atoms.
19 . The compound of claim 17 , which is (C18)Xanthate when the compound is a xanthate and is (C18)dialkyl thiocarbamate when the compound is a thiocarbamate.
20 . The compound of claim 17 , wherein M is zinc, magnesium, copper, or a mixture thereof.
21 . The compound of claim 18 , wherein M is zinc, magnesium, copper, or a mixture thereof.
22 . A method of forming a quantum dot, comprising
i) coating a quantum dot after ligand purification by bringing it into contact with a source of the compound of claim 17 , and optionally ii) subjecting said coated quantum dot to illumination with light with a peak light wavelength of about 300 to about 650 nm to increase QY of resulting nano-sized material.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
