Abstract

A system for providing a virtual reality experience includes a plurality of wall panels at a plurality of wall panel locations defining an X by Y area within the interior of the plurality of wall panels. At least one haptic feedback device associated with at least one of the plurality of wall panels for providing haptic feedback to a user. A transition area is associated with the X by Y area. A virtual reality system displays a first virtual reality environment to the user within at least a portion of the X by Y area. The first virtual reality environment defines a first virtual reality pathway for the user within the X by Y area to the at least one haptic feedback device. The virtual reality system displays a second virtual reality environment different from the first virtual reality environment within at least a portion of the X by Y area. The second virtual reality path defining a second virtual pathway for the user within the X by Y area to the at least one haptic feedback device that is different from the first virtual pathway responsive to the user entering the transition area while in the first virtual reality environment.

display a first virtual reality environment to the user within at least a portion of the X by Y area, the first virtual reality environment defining a first virtual reality pathway for the user within the X by Y area to the at least one feedback device; and
display a second virtual reality environment different from the first virtual reality environment within at least a portion of the X by Y area, the second virtual reality path defining a second virtual pathway for the user within the X by Y area to the at least one feedback device that is different from the first virtual pathway, the display of the second virtual reality environment occurring responsive to the user entering the transition area while in the first virtual reality environment.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the transition module is associated with at least one of the plurality of wall panel locations.

3 . The system of claim 1 further including a plurality of floor panels defining a floor of the X by Y area within the plurality of wall panels.

4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the plurality of floor panels are removeably connected to each other and further wherein the plurality of wall panels are removeable connected to the plurality of floor panels.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first and second virtual reality pathways are defined by virtual obstacles displayed by the virtual reality system within the X by Y area.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first and second virtual reality environments represent virtual walls corresponding to the plurality of wall panels defining the X by Y area.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the transition area further comprises a transition module associated with at least one of the wall panel locations.

8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the virtual reality environment comprises at least one environment from the group consisting of an entertainment environment, a training environment and a tradeshow presentation environment.

9 . A method for providing a virtual reality experience, comprising:
providing a plurality of wall panels at a plurality of wall panel locations defining an X by Y area within the interior of the plurality of wall panels; providing a transition area associated with the X by Y area; displaying, using a virtual reality system, a first virtual reality environment to the user within the X by Y area, the first virtual reality environment defining a first virtual reality pathway for the user within the X by Y area to a first location; and displaying, using the virtual reality system, a second virtual reality environment different from the first virtual reality environment within the X by Y area, the second virtual reality environment defining a second virtual pathway for the user within the X by Y area to the first location that is different from the first virtual pathway, the display of the second virtual reality environment occurring responsive to the user entering the transition area while in the first virtual reality environment.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein step of providing the transition module further comprises associating the transition module with at least one of the plurality of wall panel locations.

11 . The method of claim 9 wherein the step of providing further comprises providing a plurality of floor panels defining a floor of the X by Y area within the plurality of wall panels.

12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein step of providing further comprises removeably connecting the plurality of floor panels to each other and further comprising removeably connecting the plurality of wall panels to the plurality of floor panels.

13 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the steps of displaying the first and second virtual reality environments further comprise displaying virtual obstacles by the virtual reality system within the X by Y area to define the first and second virtual reality pathways.

14 . The system of claim 9 , wherein step of displaying the first and second virtual reality environments further comprises displaying virtual walls corresponding to the plurality of wall panels defining the X by Y area.

15 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the transition area further comprises a transition module associated with at least one of the wall panel locations.
