Track engagement of media items
Abstract
An engagement tracking system monitors user interactions with media items to calculate an engagement score of the media item. The engagement tracking system may be or include a group of one or more server machines configured to detect an exposure of a client device to a media item maintained by the engagement tracking system. In response to detecting the exposure of the client device to the media item, the engagement tracking system tracks a location of the client device based on access requests to location based media items. The engagement tracking system may thereby monitor client devices exposed to the media item in order to calculate an engagement score of the media item.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A system comprising:
a memory; and at least one hardware processor coupled to the memory and comprising an engagement tracking application that causes the system to perform operations comprising: generating a geo-fence that encompasses a location of interest, the geo-fence configured to provide access to media content associated with the location of interest to one or more client devices located within a boundary of the geo-fence, based on a set of access conditions associated with the media content; receiving a request to display the media content associated with the location of interest from a client device; and inferring a location of the client device based on the request to display the media content associated with the location of interest.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the request includes a timestamp, and the inferring the location of the client device further comprises:
generating a visitation record associated with the client device based on the inferring the location of the client device, the visitation record including the timestamp.
3 . The system of claim 2 , further comprising:
generating a visitation score associated with the location based on the visitation record; and causing display of a presentation of the visitation score.
4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the set of conditions include at least a location criteria.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the receiving the request to display the media content further comprises:
causing display of a notification at the client device; receiving an input that selects the notification from the client device; and receiving the request based on the input that selects the notification.
6 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
tracking requests received from the client device for a period of time subsequent to the inferring the location of the client device based on the request.
7 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
identifying an exposure tag that corresponds with the client device responsive to the inferring the location of the client device based on the request; and generating a lift value associated with the client device based on the exposure tag.
8 . A method comprising:
generating a geo-fence that encompasses a location of interest, the geo-fence configured to provide access to media content associated with the location of interest to one or more client devices located within a boundary of the geo-fence, based on a set of access conditions associated with the media content; receiving a request to display the media content associated with the location of interest from a client device; and inferring a location of the client device based on the request to display the media content associated with the location of interest.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the request includes a timestamp, and the inferring the location of the client device further comprises:
generating a visitation record associated with the client device based on the inferring the location of the client device, the visitation record including the timestamp.
10 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:
generating a visitation score associated with the location based on the visitation record; and causing display of a presentation of the visitation score.
11 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the set of conditions include at least a location criteria.
12 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the receiving the request to display the media content further comprises:
causing display of a notification at the client device; receiving an input that selects the notification from the client device; and receiving the request based on the input that selects the notification.
13 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
tracking requests received from the client device for a period of time subsequent to the inferring the location of the client device based on the request.
14 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
identifying an exposure tag that corresponds with the client device responsive to the inferring the location of the client device based on the request; and generating a lift value associated with the client device based on the exposure tag.
15 . A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:
generating a geo-fence that encompasses a location of interest, the geo-fence configured to provide access to media content associated with the location of interest to one or more client devices located within a boundary of the geo-fence, based on a set of access conditions associated with the media content; receiving a request to display the media content associated with the location of interest from a client device; and inferring a location of the client device based on the request to display the media content associated with the location of interest.
16 . The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the request includes a timestamp, and the inferring the location of the client device further comprises:
generating a visitation record associated with the client device based on the inferring the location of the client device, the visitation record including the timestamp.
17 . The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 16 , further comprising:
generating a visitation score associated with the location based on the visitation record; and causing display of a presentation of the visitation score.
18 . The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the set of conditions include at least a location criteria.
19 . The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the receiving the request to display the media content further comprises:
causing display of a notification at the client device; receiving an input that selects the notification from the client device; and receiving the request based on the input that selects the notification.
20 . The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 15 , further comprising:
tracking requests received from the client device for a period of time subsequent to the inferring the location of the client device based on the request.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
