Resistance Selectable Exercise Device

Abstract

A resistance selectable exercise device for performing upper body, leg, and arm exercises includes a pair of posts, each of which has an upper end and a lower end. A rod, which is engaged to and extends between the upper ends, is configured to be grasped in one or both hands of a user. Each of a pair of wheels is engaged to the lower end of a respective post so that the wheel is perpendicular to a plane defined by the pair of posts. The wheels allow locomotion of the posts across a surface. A bracket is engaged to and extends between the posts and is positioned between the upper ends and the lower ends of the posts. Each of a set of weights is selectively engageable to the bracket. The weights provide resistance to the user in moving the rod relative to the user and the surface.

         1 . A resistance selectable exercise device comprising:
 a pair of posts, each post having an upper end and a lower end;   a rod engaged to and extending between the upper ends of the posts, wherein the rod is configured for grasping in one or both hands of a user;   a pair of wheels, each wheel being engaged to the lower end of a respective post, such that. the wheel is perpendicular to a plane defined by the pair of posts, wherein the wheels are configured for locomotion of the posts across a surface;   a bracket engaged to and extending between the posts and being positioned between the upper ends and the lower ends of the posts;   a set of weights, each weight being selectively engageable to the bracket, wherein the weight is configured for providing resistance to the user in moving the rod relative to the user and the surface;   wherein the bracket comprises a pair of first plates, each first plate being engaged to a respective one of opposed side faces of the pair of posts, such that the pair of first plates defines a slot; and   wherein each weight comprises a second plate and a third plate, the third plate being engaged to the second plate, such that a cross-sectional profile of the weight is T-shaped, such that the second plate is positioned for insertion into the slot, positioning the third plate for engaging the pair of first plates for removably engaging the weight to the bracket.   
     
     
         2 . The resistance selectable exercise device of  claim 1 , wherein each post comprises an upper section and a lower section, the upper section being selectively extensible from the lower section, such that the post is selectively length adjustable. 
     
     
         3 . The resistance selectable exercise device of  claim 2 , further including:
 a plurality of first holes positioned in the upper sections; and   a pair of second holes positioned singly in the lower sections, such that each second hole is positioned for selectively aligning with a respective first hole, positioning the second hole and the respective first hole for insertion of a respective pin for fixedly positioning the upper section relative to the lower section.   
     
     
         4 . The resistance selectable exercise device of  claim 1 , wherein the rod is padded, such that the rod is securely and comfortably graspable. 
     
     
         5 . The resistance selectable exercise device of  claim 1 , wherein the wheels are selectively lockable, such that the wheels are prevented from rotating. 
     
     
         6 . The resistance selectable exercise device of  claim 1 , wherein each wheel is positioned on a respective one of opposed end faces of the pair of posts. 
     
     
         7 . (canceled) The resistance selectable exercise device of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the bracket comprises a pair of first plates, each first plate being engaged to a respective one of opposed side faces of the pair of posts, such that the pair of first plates defines a slot; and   each weight comprises a second plate and a third plate, the third plate being engaged to the second plate, such that a cross-sectional profile of the weight is T-shaped, such that the second plate is positioned for insertion into the slot, positioning the third plate for engaging the pair of first plates for removably engaging the weight to the bracket.   
     
     
         8 . The resistance selectable exercise device of  claim 1 , further including a plurality of slats, each slat being positioned in the slot and extending between the first plates, such that the plurality of slats defines a plurality of slits, such that each slit is positioned for insertion of a respective second plate. 
     
     
         9 . The resistance selectable exercise device of  claim 8 , wherein the plurality of slats comprises four slats defining five slits.

         11 . A resistance selectable exercise device comprising:
 a pair of posts, each post having an upper end and a lower end, each post comprising an upper section and a lower section, the upper section being selectively extensible from the lower section, such that the post is selectively length adjustable;   a plurality of first holes positioned in the upper sections;   a pair of second holes positioned singly in the lower sections, such that each second hole is positioned for selectively aligning with a respective first hole, positioning the second hole and the respective first hole for insertion of a respective pin for fixedly positioning the upper section relative to the lower section;   a rod engaged to and extending between the upper ends of the posts, wherein the rod is configured for grasping in one or both hands of a user, the rod being padded, such that the rod is securely and comfortably graspable;   a pair of wheels, each wheel being engaged to the lower end of a respective post, such that the wheel is perpendicular to a plane defined by the pair of posts, wherein the wheels are configured for locomotion of the posts across a surface, the wheels being selectively lockable, such that the wheels are prevented from rotating, each wheel being positioned on a respective one of opposed end faces of the pair of posts;   a bracket engaged to and extending between the posts and being positioned between the upper ends and the lower ends of the posts, the bracket comprising a pair of first plates, each first plate being engaged to a respective one of opposed side faces of the pair of posts, such that the pair of first plates defines a slot;   a set of weights, each weight being selectively engageable to the bracket, wherein the weight is configured for providing resistance to the user in moving the rod relative to the user and the surface, each weight comprising a second plate and a third plate, the third plate being engaged to the second plate, such that a cross-sectional profile of the weight is T-shaped, such that the second plate is positioned for insertion into the slot, positioning the third plate for engaging the pair of first plates for removably engaging the weight to the bracket; and   a plurality of slats, each slat being positioned in the slot and extending between the first plates, such that the plurality of slats defines a plurality of slits, such that each slit is positioned for insertion of a respective second plate, the plurality of slats comprising four slats defining five slits.
