Abstract
A method of using biometric verification comprises identifying a validation requirement during the execution of a non-voice channel interaction, and initiating a contact to the user, at a pre-registered device. The method further comprises executing a biometric verification of the user's identity and possession of the device, via a user interaction at the pre-registered device, and providing the validation when the user is successfully identified.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
2 . A method of performing two-factor authentication for a transaction, the method comprising:
detecting initiation of the transaction by a user through a transaction endpoint; upon detecting the initiation of the transaction, alerting a mobile application to initiate a biometric based verification of the user; collecting biometric data from the user of the mobile application; matching the collected biometric data to a biometric pattern; performing the biometric based verification of the user based on the matching; identifying access of the user to the mobile application; validating an identity of the user based on the identifying; and based on the validated identity of the user and the biometric based verification, completing the transaction.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the transaction includes one or more of the following: an access to a bank account, ordering an item, paying at a terminal, an access to a medical record.
4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein collecting the biometric data from the user of the mobile application comprises collecting live voice data of the user.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the live voice data of the user is collected over a Voice-over-IP channel or a cellular network channel.
6 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising determining that the transaction requires the biometric based verification based on determining that (1) the transaction is over a threshold amount, (2) the transaction is for an item being sent to an address different from a home address of the user, or (3) the transaction is for accessing a sensitive medical record.
7 . The method of claim 2 , wherein collecting the biometric data from the user comprises collecting one or more of the following: voice biometric data, face biometric data, fingerprint biometric data.
8 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising registering the mobile application, the registered mobile application providing the biometric data to perform the biometric based verification.
9 . A system comprising:
a processor operatively coupled to a computer memory, the processor configured to:
detect initiation of a transaction by a user through a transaction endpoint;
upon detecting the initiation of the transaction, alert a mobile application to initiate a biometric based verification of the user;
collect biometric data from the user of the mobile application;
matching the collected biometric data to a biometric pattern;
perform the biometric based verification of the user based on the matching;
identifying access of the user to the mobile application;
validate an identity of the user based on the identifying; and
based on the validated identity of the user and the biometric based verification, complete the transaction.
10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the transaction includes one or more of the following: an access to a bank account, ordering an item, paying at a terminal, an access to a medical record.
11 . The system of claim 9 , wherein collecting the biometric data from the user of the mobile application comprises collecting live voice data of the user.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the live voice data of the user is collected over a Voice-over-IP channel or a cellular network channel.
13 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to determine that the transaction requires the biometric based verification based on determining that (1) the transaction is over a threshold amount, (2) the transaction is for an item being sent to an address different from a home address of the user, or (3) the transaction is for accessing a sensitive medical record.
14 . The system of claim 9 , wherein collecting the biometric data from the user comprises collecting one or more of the following: voice biometric data, face biometric data, fingerprint biometric data.
15 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to register the mobile application, the registered mobile application providing the biometric data to perform the biometric based verification.
16 . A machine-readable medium storing executable instructions that upon execution by a processor perform a method comprising:
detecting initiation of a transaction by a user through a transaction endpoint; upon detecting the initiation of the transaction, alerting a mobile application that initiates a biometric based verification of the user; collecting biometric data from the user of the mobile application; matching the collected biometric data to a biometric pattern; performing the biometric based verification of the user based on the matching; identifying access of the user to the mobile application; validating an identity of the user based on the identifying; and based on the validated identity of the user and the biometric based verification, completing the transaction.
17 . The machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the transaction includes one of more of the following: an access to a bank account, ordering an item, paying at a terminal, an access to a medical record.
18 . The machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein collecting the biometric data from the user of the mobile application comprises collecting live voice data of the user.
19 . The machine-readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the live voice data of the user is collected over a Voice-over-IP channel or a cellular network channel.
20 . The machine-readable medium of claim 16 , further comprising determining that the transaction requires the biometric based verification based on determining that (1) the transaction is over a threshold amount, (2) the transaction is for an item being sent to an address different from a home address of the user, or (3) the transaction is for accessing a sensitive medical record.
21 . The machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein collecting the biometric data from the user comprises collecting voice biometric data, face biometric data, or fingerprint biometric data.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
