Conversational Targeted Content
Abstract
Techniques of the disclosure are directed to sending and receiving messages that allow for content providers to interact with potential recipients and customers. An information distribution system may receive a first message from a content provider via a first client device that includes targeted content, such as a string of characters, an image, a video, and/or some other form of media. The targeted content may also include tags, such as hashtags, which identify or otherwise associate a particular topic with the user-generated content. Further, the targeted content may include a selectable graphical user interface element that a user reading the content may interact with on a second client device. If the user selects the selectable graphical user interface element, the information distribution system may generate a custom message that may be sent on behalf of the user, which may also include a tag, such as a hashtag.
Claims

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second message includes one or more images, and wherein the first message does not include the one or more images.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second message includes a video, and wherein the first message does not include the video.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein a content of the first selectable element includes a specification of a hashtag, and wherein the content of the second message includes a specification of the hashtag.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each selectable element of the set of selectable elements includes a specification of a hashtag in a content thereof that is different than the hashtag of each other selectable element of the set of selectable elements, such that the content of the second message includes a specification of the hashtag of the first selectable element.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the content of the second message is editable by the target user prior to the target user providing the second user input.
7 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising receiving updated content for the second message from the target user.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user content message further includes a prompt for an indication of a second user input to grant or deny permission for the information distribution system to send the second message to the group of one or more client devices for display, the method further comprising receiving, by the information distribution system and from the client device, the indication of the second user input, and wherein the sending the user generated message for display at the group of one or more client devices is in response to the second user input comprising the affirmation for the information distribution system to send the second message to the group of one or more client devices for display.
9 . An information distribution system comprising:
at least one processor; and at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that are executable by the at least one processor to:
receive a first targeted message for display to a target user via a client device user interface, wherein the first targeted message includes targeted content, the targeted content including a set of selectable elements, each selectable element associated with generation of a user content message, the first targeted message additionally including a re-share element to permit the target user to re-share the targeted content;
in response to receiving the first targeted message, send, for display at the client device user interface associated with the target user, the first targeted message;
receive an indication of a first user input comprising a selection of a first selectable element of the set of selectable elements of the first targeted message displayed at the client device user interface;
in response to receiving the indication of the first user input, generate, by the information distribution system and for display at the client device as a user-generated message, the user content message including a second message, the content of the second message based on the selection of the first selectable element; and
send, by the information distribution system and for display at the group of one or more client devices, the user generated message from the target user that includes the second message in the content section of the user content.
10 . The information distribution system of claim 9 , wherein the second message includes one or more images, and wherein the first message does not include the one or more images.
11 . The information distribution system of claim 9 , wherein the second message includes a video, and wherein the first message does not include the video.
12 . The information distribution system of claim 9 , wherein a content of the first selectable element includes a specification of a hashtag, and wherein the content of the second message includes a specification of the hashtag.
13 . The information distribution system of claim 9 , wherein the user content message further includes a prompt for an indication of a second user input to grant or deny permission for the information distribution system to send the second message to the group of one or more client devices for display, wherein the processor is further configured to receive, from the client device, the indication of the second user input, and wherein the processor is further configured to send the user generated message for display at the group of one or more client devices is in response to the second user input comprising the affirmation for the information distribution system to send the second message to the group of one or more client devices for display.
14 . The information distribution system of claim 9 , wherein the content of the second message is editable by the target user prior to the target user providing the second user input.
15 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause at least one processor to:
receive a first targeted message for display to a target user via a client device user interface, wherein the first targeted message includes targeted content, the targeted content including a set of selectable elements, each selectable element associated with generation of a user content message, the first targeted message additionally including a re-share element to permit the target user to re-share the targeted content; in response to receiving the first targeted message, send, for display at the client device user interface associated with the target user, the first targeted message; receive an indication of a first user input comprising a selection of a first selectable element of the set of selectable elements of the first targeted message displayed at the client device user interface; in response to receiving the indication of the first user input, generate, for display at the client device as a user-generated message, the user content message including a second message, the content of the second message based on the selection of the first selectable element; and send, for display at the group of one or more client devices, the user generated message from the target user that includes the second message in the content section of the user content message.
16 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the second message includes one or more images, and wherein the first message does not include the one or more images.
17 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the second message includes a video, and wherein the first message does not include the video.
