Abstract
A method and associated system for confirming standard compliance for at least one agricultural product using an agricultural pedigree for each agricultural product.

1 . A method for confirming standard compliance for at least one agricultural product using an agricultural pedigree for each agricultural product comprising the steps of:
a) Providing an information storage device adapted to receive input of data for each agricultural product relating to at least one of the agricultural product's production, harvesting, distribution, processing and consumption; b) Inputting data into the information storage device; c) Storing said data; d) Maintaining an agricultural pedigree data for each agricultural product utilizing at least a portion of the data; and e) Evaluating compliance of each agricultural product with preexisting standards in accordance with predefined standard requirements using the agricultural pedigree data for each agricultural product.
2 . The method according to claim 1 further including the step of coordinatingly orchestrating at least one of the production, harvesting, distribution, processing and consumption of the agricultural product via an open communication network accessing the storage data device.

The method according to claim 1 wherein the step of evaluating compliance of the agricultural product with preexisting standards further includes the step of evaluating a sustainability measurement for the agricultural product according to predefined sustainability parameters, and optionally assigning it a sustainability rating based upon a sustainability scale.

The method according to claim 1 wherein the step of evaluating compliance of the agricultural product with preexisting standards further includes the steps of accessing and predicting at least one measurement of the agricultural product including a sustainability measurement, a profitability measurement, a water usage measurement, a carbon footprint measurement, a risk management measurement and an energy measurement.

The method according to claim 1 wherein the step of inputting the data into the information storage device includes inputting one or more contemporaneous inputs into over time throughout at; least one of the production, harvesting, distribution, processing and consumption of the agricultural product.

The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of allowing access to the information storage device to at least one of an agricultural product producer, harvester, packager, transporter, processor, distributor, and consumer, and communication between at least two of said agricultural product producer, harvester, packager, transporter, processor, distributor and consumer.
7 . The method according to claim 1 wherein the inputting includes automated contemporaneous uploading of inputs from farm equipment engaged in the production of each of the agricultural products.
8 . The method according to claim 7 wherein the automated contemporaneous uploading of inputs from farm equipment engaged in the production of the agricultural product includes at least one input from mobile metering device on board the farm equipment.

The method according to claim 1 wherein the step of evaluating compliance of the agricultural product with preexisting standards further includes the steps of calculating a sustainability measurement for each product, including at least one of a water usage measurement, a carbon footprint measurement, and an energy measurement.
10 . The method according to claim 1 wherein the step of evaluating compliance of the agricultural product with preexisting standards further includes the steps of calculating a water usage measurement for each product.
11 . The method according to claim 1 wherein the step of evaluating compliance of the agricultural product with preexisting standards further includes the steps of calculating a carbon footprint measurement for each product.
12 . The method according to claim 1 wherein the step of evaluating compliance of the agricultural product with preexisting standards further includes the steps of calculating a energy usage measurement for each product.

The method according to claim 1 wherein the step of evaluating compliance of the agricultural product with preexisting standards further includes the steps of calculating a sustainability measurement for each product, wherein the step of evaluating a sustainability measurement for the agricultural product is at least part of at least one of the real time decision making tool and the predictive modeling tool.

An agricultural pedigree system for at least one agricultural product comprising an open communication network accessible information storage device adapted to receive input of data relating to agricultural product production and distribution from at least one and preferably from multiple sources and configured for evaluating compliance of the agricultural product with preexisting standards in accordance with predefined standard requirements.
15 . The system according to claim 14 wherein the system is configured to coordinatingly orchestrate at least one of the production, harvesting, distribution, processing and consumption of the agricultural product via the open communication network.
16 . The system according to claim 14 wherein the system is configured to evaluate a sustainability measurement for the agricultural product according to predefined sustainability parameters, and optionally, assigning it a sustainability rating based upon a sustainability scale.

The system according to claim 14 wherein the system is configured to access and predict at least one measurement of the agricultural product including a sustainability measurement, a profitability measurement, a water usage measurement, a carbon footprint measurement, a risk management measurement and an energy measurement.
18 . The system according to claim 14 wherein the system is configured for automated contemporaneous uploading of inputs from farm equipment engaged in the production of each of the agricultural products.
19 . The system according to claim 18 wherein system is configures wherein the automated contemporaneous uploading of inputs from farm equipment engaged in the production of the agricultural product includes at least one input from mobile metering device on board the farm equipment.
20 . A method for establishing an agricultural pedigree for at least one agricultural product comprising:
a) Providing an open communication network accessible information storage device adapted to receive input of data relating to at least one of the agricultural product's production, harvesting, distribution, processing and consumption from at least one and preferably from multiple sources; b) Inputting said data into said information storage device; c) Storing said data; d) Providing access to at least a portion of said data via the open communication network, wherein the information storage device is configured to be used as at least one of a real time decision making tool and a predictive modeling tool; and e) Evaluating a sustainability measurement for the agricultural product according to predefined sustainability parameters, and assigning it a sustainability rating based upon a sustainability scale.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
