Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention include systems and methods for systematically evaluating idea quality in accordance with specified rules. In addition, such assessments may also be used to initiate workflows for improving the quality of a given idea. Some embodiments may provide for assessment of the novelty of idea in real-time (e.g., during an innovation or ideation session). Such initial assessments may further be updated in real-time as the idea is discussed further. Such assessment may rely on voice-activated and intelligence-driven searching of various data sources to identify the context of the idea so as to provide an objective basis for the assessment.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A system for idea mapping, the system comprising:
one or more landscape databases that stores a plurality of keywords and data categories associated with the keywords; a communication interface that receives a recorded data set associated with a session; and a processor that executes instructions stored in memory, wherein execution of the instructions by the processor:
generates a display of a landscape map based on the recorded data set, wherein the landscape map display illustrates a set of categories that correspond to the recorded data set,
extracts a first keyword and a second keyword from the recorded data set,
assigns the first keyword to a first category of the landscape map based on a comparison of the first keyword and a set of the stored keywords associated with the first category,
assigns the second keyword to a second category of the landscape map based on a comparison of the second keyword and a set of the stored keywords associated with the second category, and
updates the display of the landscape map to include the first keyword in the first category and the second keyword in the second category.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the landscape databases is remote, and wherein the communication interface further sends the keywords to at least one landscape database.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor updates the landscape map in real-time during the session as the first keyword and the second keyword are received by the communication interface.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor generates the landscape map as a new landscape map based on one or more categories provided by a user of the session.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor assigns a first attribute based on comparing the first keyword to a definition associated with the first category.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor further identifies one or more relationships or potential relationships between similar or dissimilar features of the categories of the landscape map.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor further:
queries a third-party network for an attribute phrase definition; and adds a received attribute phrase definition to a category definition in the landscape database.

8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor further:
creates a new category of the landscape map for a second attribute associated with the second keyword that did not exceed a correlation score threshold for any of the categories of the landscape map.

9 . A method for idea assessment, the method comprising:
storing a plurality of keywords and data categories associated with the keywords at one or more landscape databases; receiving a recorded data set associated with a session through a communication interface; and executing instructions stored in memory, wherein execution of the instructions by a processor:
generates a display of a landscape map based on the recorded data set, wherein the landscape map display illustrates a set of categories that correspond to the recorded data set,
extracts a first keyword and a second keyword from the recorded data set,
assigns the first keyword to a first category of the landscape map based on a comparison of the first keyword and a set of the stored keywords associated with the first category,
assigns the second keyword to a second category of the landscape map based on a comparison of the second keyword and a set of the stored keywords associated with the second category, and
updates the display of the landscape map to include the first keyword in the first category and the second keyword in the second category.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein at least one of the landscape databases is remote, and wherein the communication interface further sends the keywords to at least one landscape database.

11 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:
updating the landscape map in real-time during the session as the first keyword and the second keyword are received by the communication interface.

12 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:
generating the landscape map as a new landscape map based on one or more categories provided by a user of the session.

13 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:
assigning a first attribute based on comparing the first keyword to a definition associated with the first category.

14 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:
identifying one or more relationships or potential relationships between similar or dissimilar features of the categories of the landscape map.

15 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:
querying a third-party network for an attribute phrase definition; and adding a received attribute phrase definition to a category definition in the landscape database.

16 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:
creating a new category of the landscape map for a second attribute associated with the second keyword that did not exceed a correlation score threshold for any of the categories of the landscape map.

17 . A non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium, having embodied thereon a program executable by a processor to perform method for idea assessment, the method comprising:
storing keywords, contextual data, and respective categories at one or more landscape databases; causing to display a dynamic landscape map that distinguishes between respective categories and associated keywords, comparing a first keyword and a second keyword extracted from audio data with the respective categories of the dynamic landscape map, assigning a first attribute phase associated with the first keyword to a category of the dynamic landscape map for which a correlation score threshold is exceeded based on the comparison of the first keyword and other keywords associated with the category, creating a new category of the dynamic landscape map for a second attribute phase associated with the second keyword that did not exceed the correlation score threshold for any of the respective categories of the dynamic landscape map, and causing to refresh the dynamic landscape map to include the new category.

18 . The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 17 , wherein the method further comprising:
identifying one or more relationships or potential relationships between similar or dissimilar features of the categories of the landscape map.

19 . The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 17 , wherein the method further comprising:
querying a third-party network for an attribute phrase definition; and adding a received attribute phrase definition to a category definition in the landscape database.

20 . The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 17 , wherein the method further comprising:
creating a new category of the dynamic landscape map for a second attribute associated with the second keyword that did not exceed the correlation score threshold for any of the categories of the dynamic landscape map.
