Abstract
A customizable screen comprising spaced apart posts, each post being assemblable, a plurality of reversible slats retained between the spaced apart posts, and means for spacing and forming gaps between one or more of the plurality of slats individually or in groups at a desired distance from another one or more groups of slats. Customizable screen systems, components of the screen, kits and methods of assembly form embodiments.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1 .- 28 . (canceled)
29 . A modular screen, comprising:
a plurality of reversible slats slidably and detachably mounted between two spaced apart posts in parallel arrangement; means for retaining one or more of the plurality of the reversible slats at a distance from one or more of the other reversible slats to provide gaps of the same or different sizes between the one or more of the plurality of reversible slats, and means to fix at least one of the plurality of reversible slats between the spaced apart posts.
30 . The modular screen of claim 29 , wherein each of the two spaced apart posts comprise two reversibly connected segments.
31 . The modular screen of claim 30 , wherein the two reversibly connected segments are joined with a connector.
32 . The modular screen of claim 31 , wherein each of said posts comprises a slot formed transversely in and extending longitudinally along the connected segments.
33 . The modular screen of claim 32 , wherein each of the plurality of reversible slats has two opposite ends respectively that slide within the slot of the posts.
34 . The modular screen of claim 29 , wherein said plurality of reversible slats form a separate lower and an upper slat arrangement.
35 . The modular screen of claim 34 , wherein the upper slat arrangement is the same or different to the lower slat arrangement, and wherein the upper slat arrangement can be disconnected from the lower slat arrangement to change one or more of the slats in either of the upper and/or the lower slat arrangement.
36 . The modular screen of claim 29 , wherein a reversible slat of the plurality of reversible slats can be removed and/or replaced without removing a reversible slat arranged above it.
37 . The modular screen of claim 29 , wherein the means for retaining one or more of the plurality of the reversible slats at a distance from one or more of the other reversible slats comprises a plurality of privacy spacers.
38 . The modular screen of claim 29 , wherein a slat of the plurality of reversible slats comprises:
an elongated body portion having first and second ends and a center portion, the center portion comprising a front face with a first design and a back face with a second design, the first and second ends comprising a C-shaped recessed profile that is different to the body portion profile.
39 . The modular screen of claim 29 , wherein a reversible slat of the plurality of reversible slats comprises thermoplastic polymers, resins and/or elastomers.
40 . The modular screen of claim 29 , wherein a reversible slat of the plurality of reversible slats is injected molded from compositions comprising plastic, recycled plastic, recycled crumb rubber and mixtures thereof.
41 . The modular screen of claim 29 , wherein a reversible slat of the plurality of reversible slats comprises polyolefin selected from the group consisting of polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutene, polyisoprene, polypentene and mixtures thereof.
42 . The modular screen of claim 29 , wherein at least one of:
(a) the plurality of reversible slats, (b) the means for retaining one or more the plurality of slats at a distance from one or more of the other reversible slats and (c) the means to fix at least one of the plurality of reversible slats between the spaced apart posts comprises a recycled source.
43 . The modular screen of claim 29 , wherein a post of the two spaced apart posts comprises:
a first and a second post segment each comprising a body portion with a transverse slot; and a connector that reversibly connects an open end of the first post segment to an open end of the second post segment in a manner that aligns the transverse slot of each first and second post segments.
44 . The modular screen of claim 43 , further comprising a post cap for reversibly securing to the open end of the post, the post cap comprising:
a cap body having a frame; an integral connection means on an internal surface of the frame in the form of projections for aligning with and threading through an aperture of a connector; wherein each side of the frame has a narrow opening to accommodate the connector.
45 . The modular screen of claim 29 , wherein the means to fix at least one of the plurality of reversible slats between the spaced apart posts is a slat locker.
46 . A screen system, comprising two or more of the modular screen of claim 29 .
47 . A customizable screen kit comprising a combination of:
reversible slats; privacy spacers; slat lockers; two piece connectable vertical support members; base members; optional spikes; optional post caps; optional post cap connectors; optional external post connector supports and associated hardware; optional elongate supports with hooks; and optional instructions for assembly.
48 . A customizable screen comprising:
spaced apart posts, each of the posts comprising reversibly connected upper and lower portions and a slot formed transversely in and extending continuously longitudinally along the upper and lower portions; a plurality of slats slidably and detachably mounted in the mounting slots of the posts between the posts, each of the detachable slats having two opposite ends with a C shaped recessed profile; and means to retain any one or more of the plurality of slats in a horizontally parallel spaced apart orientation to provide for varying degrees of gaps between the one or more of the plurality of slats, wherein each of said slats may comprise a same or different design on front and/or back faces of said slat to any other of said slats, wherein one or more lower slat can be removed and/or replaced without removing a connected upper slat, and wherein at least one slat of the plurality of slats comprises: compositions comprising plastic, recycled plastic, recycled crumb rubber and mixtures thereof; and/or polyolefin selected from the group consisting of polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutene, polyisoprene, polypentene and mixtures thereof; and/or comprises thermoplastic polymers, resins and/or elastomers.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
