Skin Care Compositions and Methods of Use Thereof

Abstract

The present disclosure provides a mixture of sugar apple and rosemary extracts, optionally in combination with prickly ash extract, for use as skin care compositions.

         79 . A skin care composition comprising a mixture of an  Annona  extract and a  Zanthoxylum  extract. 
     
     
         80 . The skin care composition of  claim 79 , wherein the  Annona  extract is enriched for one or more acetogenins and the  Zanthoxylum  extract is enriched for one or more isoquinoline alkaloids. 
     
     
         81 . The skin care composition of  claim 79 , wherein the  Annona  extract comprises an  Annona  fruit extract, and wherein the  Zanthoxylum  extract is a  Zanthoxylum  bark extract. 
     
     
         82 . The skin care composition of  claim 79 , wherein the  Annona  extract is enriched for squamocin, motrilin, or both, and wherein the  Zanthoxylum  extract is enriched for magnoflorine, lauriflorine, or both. 
     
     
         83 . The skin care composition of  claim 79 , wherein the composition further comprises a Rosemary extract enriched for terpenes comprising carnosic acid, carnosol, ursolic acid, or any combination thereof. 
     
     
         84 . The skin care composition of  claim 79 , wherein one or both extracts are decolorized. 
     
     
         85 . The skin care composition of  claim 79 , wherein the composition further comprises a pharmaceutically, dermatologically, or cosmetically acceptable carrier, diluent or excipient.

The skin care composition of  claim 85 , wherein the pharmaceutical, dermatological or cosmetic formulation comprises from about 0.05 wt % to about 0.5 wt %  Annona  extract comprising about 1.0 wt % acetogenins, from about 1.0 wt % to about 6.0 wt %  Zanthoxylum  extract comprising about 3.0 wt % aporphine alkaloids, and from about 0.1 wt % to about 2 wt % Rosemary extract comprising about 60 wt % carnosic acid. 
     
     
         87 . The skin care composition of  claim 83 , wherein the  Annona ,  Zanthoxylum , and Rosemary extracts are blended in about a 5:10:1 to about a 1:120:2 weight ratio, respectively. 
     
     
         88 . The skin care composition of  claim 79 , wherein the composition further comprises an adjuvant selected from a contouring agent, a skin toner, a lipolysis promoting agent, a circulation improving agent, or any combination thereof. 
     
     
         89 . The skin care composition of  claim 79 , wherein the composition further comprises a solvent, a thickening agent, a defoamer, an emollient, a preservative, or any combination thereof. 
     
     
         90 . The skin care composition of  claim 79 , wherein the composition is formulated as a powder, liquid, gel, emulsion, cream, or lotion.
