Testing systems and methods

Abstract

A system of the present disclosure has a host testing device having a first wireless transceiver and having host testing device logic configured to transmit a test command via the first wireless transceiver. Additionally, the system has a remote testing device coupled to a system component. The remote testing device has a second wireless transceiver and remote testing device logic that receives the test command from the host testing device and executes the test command on the system component.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A testing device, comprising:
 a touchscreen device;   a system component interface; and   logic configured to perform a test on the system component via the system component interface, the logic further configured to retrieve data indicative of technical information based on results of the test performed and display the data to the touchscreen device.   
     
     
         2 . The testing device of  claim 1 , wherein the logic is configured to retrieve the data indicative of the technical information from resident memory. 
     
     
         3 . The testing device of  claim 1 , further comprising a wireless transceiver, wherein the logic is configured to retrieve the data indicative of the diagnostic procedures from a server on a wireless network via the wireless transceiver. 
     
     
         4 . The testing device of  claim 3 , wherein the data indicative of the technical information retrieved comprises data indicative of diagnostic procedures, repair procedures, or retesting procedures. 
     
     
         5 . The testing device of  claim 4 , wherein the logic is further configured to display data indicative of additional tests to perform based on the test results. 
     
     
         6 . The testing device of  claim 5 , wherein the logic is further configured to display data indicative of a repair procedure based on results of the additional tests. 
     
     
         7 . The testing device of  claim 1 , wherein the logic is further configured to display queries to a user based on results of the test. 
     
     
         8 . The testing device of  claim 7 , wherein the logic is further configured to receive data indicative of a response to the displayed query via the touchscreen from the user. 
     
     
         9 . The testing device of  claim 8 , wherein the logic is further configured to retrieve data related to the response by the user and display the retrieved data to the touchscreen device. 
     
     
         10 . The testing device of  claim 1 , wherein the logic is further configured to transmit data indicative of diagnostic information and failures to a central computing device.
