8 . A method for provisioning and managing a computing infrastructure, the method comprising:
creating an objective object based on a resource class, the objective object comprising
a resource collection identifying a set of objects based on the resource class, the set of objects comprising a plurality of constituent objective objects, each constituent objective object of the plurality of constituent objective objects comprising
a constituent resource collection that identifies at least one resource object based on the resource class and configured to control at least one physical resource of at least one computer system, and
constituent instructions that specify processing to be performed by the constituent objective object via the at least one physical resource, and

receive a request to trace the objective object,
determine, in response to reception of the request to trace and based on the resource collection, causal relationships between the objective object and each of the plurality of constituent objective objects, and
aggregate state information from each of the plurality of constituent objective objects to generate overall state information for the objective object,
creating the set of objects comprising the plurality of constituent objective objects, receiving, via a user interface, a request to trace the objective object, transmitting, to the objective object in response to receiving the request to trace, the request to trace the objective object, and outputting, via the user interface, a graph that comprises the state information and the overall state information.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein outputting the graph comprises outputting information regarding an impact of a resource failure on the objective object.
10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein determining the causal relationships comprises issuing, in response to the request to trace the objective object and to each constituent objective object of the plurality of constituent objective objects, a request to trace the constituent objective object.
11 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising executing the constituent instructions, wherein executing the constituent instructions comprises
receiving the request to trace the constituent objective object, and responding to the request to trace the constituent objective object with one or more of the state information or information associating the constituent objective object and the at least one physical resource, the state information describing one or more of the constituent objective object or the at least one physical resource.
12 . The method of claim 8 , wherein receiving the request to trace the objective object comprises one or more of:
receiving a request to trace a resource failure horizontally, across a plurality of resource types; or receiving a request to trace a resource failure vertically, among a set of interdependent resources.
13 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising executing the instructions to orchestrate the set of objects, wherein executing the instructions to orchestrate the set of objects comprises executing instructions to subscribe the objective object to event notifications generated by each of the constituent objective objects.
