Abstract

An article for use as or as part of a non-combustible aerosol provision system includes an aerosol generating material including at least one aerosol forming material and a hollow tubular body disposed downstream of the aerosol generating material, the hollow tubular body having a wall thickness greater than about 0.5 mm and a density of between about 0.25 and about 0.75 g/cc. At least one ventilation area is arranged to provide external air into the hollow tubular body. A system is also described, including an article and a non-combustible aerosol provision device, as well as a method of forming an article.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An article for use as or as part of a non-combustible aerosol provision system, the article comprising:
an aerosol generating material comprising at least one aerosol forming material; and a hollow tubular body disposed downstream of the aerosol generating material, the hollow tubular body comprising a wall thickness greater than about 0.5 mm and a density of between about 0.25 and about 0.75 g/cc, wherein at least one ventilation area is arranged to provide external air into the hollow tubular body.

2 . The article according to claim 1 , wherein the article further comprises a cylindrical body disposed immediately downstream of the hollow tubular body.

3 . The article according to claim 2 , wherein the article further comprises a second hollow tubular body disposed downstream of the cylindrical body.

4 . The article according to claim 1 , wherein the first hollow tubular body and/or the second hollow tubular body is formed from paper, plastic, or filamentary tow.

5 . The article according to claim 1 , wherein the article further comprises a hollow tubular member disposed upstream of the hollow tubular body.

6 . The article according to claim 5 , wherein the hollow tubular member has a wall thickness less than about 1.5 mm.

7 . The article according to claim 5 , wherein the hollow tubular member is formed from paper, plastic, or filamentary tow.

8 . The article according to claim 1 , wherein the hollow tubular body comprises triacetin in an amount less than about 16% by weight of the hollow tubular body, or about 15% by weight of the hollow tubular body, or about 13% by weight of the hollow tubular body.

9 . The article according to claim 5 , wherein the hollow tubular member has a first inner diameter, and the hollow tubular member has a second inner diameter, and the first inner diameter is greater than the second inner diameter.

10 . The article according to claim 3 , wherein the second hollow tubular body is disposed at the furthest downstream end of the article.

11 . The article according to claim 1 , wherein the hollow tubular body has a density between about 0.25 g/cc and about 0.75 g/cc.

12 . The article according to claim 5 , wherein the hollow tubular member has length less than 20 mm, or less than 19 mm, or less than 18 mm.

13 . The article according to claim 5 , wherein the aerosol generating material comprises an aerosol generating material section, and the aerosol generating material section has a length greater than a length of the hollow tubular member.

14 . A system comprising: an article according to claim 1 , and a non-combustible aerosol provision device.

15 . A system comprising: a non-combustible aerosol provision device, and an article according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol generating material is provided with an amount of nicotine, and wherein the aerosol generated by the system, in use, comprises at least 30% of the amount of nicotine provided in the aerosol generating material prior to use, or at least 35% of the amount of nicotine provided in the aerosol generating material prior to use, or at least 40% of the amount of nicotine provided in the aerosol generating material prior to use.

16 . A system according to claim 19 , wherein use comprises following a standard puffing regime.

17 . A system comprising: a non-combustible aerosol provision device, and an article according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol generating material is provided with an amount of glycerol, and wherein the aerosol generated by the system, in use, comprises at least 15% of the amount of glycerol provided in the aerosol generating material prior to use, or at least 20% of the amount of glycerol provided in the aerosol generating material prior to use.

18 . A system according to claim 1 , wherein use comprises following a standard puffing regime.

19 . A method of forming an article according to claim 1 , the method comprising:
providing an aerosol generating material comprising at least one aerosol forming material; and disposing a tubular body downstream of the aerosol generating material, the tubular body having a wall thickness greater than about 0.5 mm and a density of between about 0.25 and about 0.75 g/cc; and providing a ventilation area arranged to provide external air into the hollow tubular body.
