Method for Remedying a Security Breach on a Mobile Device
Abstract
A method and device for providing notification of improper access to secure data on a mobile device. The mobile device detects a request to record content displayed on a display of the mobile device. A determination is then made regarding whether the content that was displayed on the screen when the request to record was received is protected content. If the displayed content was protected, then a third party is notified that a security breach has been detected. A remedial action is also performed regarding the security breach. A device may receive protected content on a mobile device from a third party computer. A device may display the protected content and non-protected content on a display on the mobile device. A device may receive a request to record the protected content and the non-protected content currently displayed on the display on the mobile device. A device may determine whether the protected content is currently on the display on the mobile device. A device may notify the third party computer of the request to record the protected content. A device may take remedial action.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method comprising:
receiving protected content on a mobile device from a third party computer; displaying the protected content and non-protected content on a display on the mobile device; receiving a request to record the protected content and the non-protected content currently displayed on the display on the mobile device; determining whether the protected content is currently on the display on the mobile device; notifying the third party computer of the request to record the protected content; and taking remedial action.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the remedial action comprises disabling the mobile device.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the remedial action comprises disabling login credentials used to access the protected content.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the remedial action comprises deleting data stored on the mobile device.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the remedial action comprises capturing an image of a user of the mobile device.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the remedial action comprises only displaying the non-protected content on the display on the mobile device.
7 . The method of claim 1 further comprises receiving instructions from the third party computer to take the remedial action.
8 . A non-transitory computer readable media containing instructions programmed to:
receive protected content on a mobile device from a third party computer; display the protected content and non-protected content on a display on the mobile device; receive a request to record the protected content and the non-protected content currently displayed on the display on the mobile device; determine whether the protected content is currently on the display on the mobile device; notify the third party computer of the request to record the protected content; and take remedial action.
9 . The non-transitory computer readable media of claim 8 , wherein the remedial action comprises instructions programmed to disable the mobile device.
10 . The non-transitory computer readable media of claim 8 , wherein the remedial action comprises instructions programmed to disable login credentials used to access the protected content.
11 . The non-transitory computer readable media of claim 8 , wherein the remedial action comprises instructions programmed to delete data stored on the mobile device.
12 . The non-transitory computer readable media of claim 8 , wherein the remedial action comprises instructions programmed to capture an image of a user of the mobile device.
13 . The non-transitory computer readable media of claim 8 , wherein the remedial action comprises instructions programmed to only display the non-protected content on the display on the mobile device.
14 . The non-transitory computer readable media of claim 8 further comprises instructions programmed to receive instructions from the third party computer to take the remedial action.
15 . A mobile device comprising:
a non-transitory computer readable memory; a network interface configured to receive protected content from a third party computer; a display configured to display the protected content and non-protected content; and a processor electronically connected to the non-transitory computer readable memory, the network interface, and the display, the processor configured to:
receive a request to record the protected content and the non-protected content currently displayed on the display on the mobile device;
determine whether the protected content is currently on the display on the mobile device;
notify the third party computer of the request to record the protected content; and
take remedial action.
16 . The mobile device of claim 15 wherein the processor is configured to take the remedial action by disabling the mobile device.
17 . The mobile device of claim 15 wherein the processor is configured to take the remedial action by disabling login credentials used to access the protected content.
18 . The mobile device of claim 15 wherein the processor is configured to take the remedial action by deleting data stored on the mobile device.
19 . The mobile device of claim 15 wherein the processor is configured to take the remedial action by capturing an image of a user of the mobile device.
20 . The mobile device of claim 15 wherein the processor is configured to receive instructions from the third party computer to take the remedial action.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
