Abstract

A closure assembly for a dispenser container comprises a base defining a longitudinal recess and a body configured to be moveably coupled to the base. The base comprises a first seal positioned at a first end of the recess and a second seal positioned at an opposing second end of the recess. The body comprises a first body end and an opposing second body end. A shaft extends from the first body end to the second body end. The body is configured to move between an open position where the body is fluidly connected with the recess, and a closed position where the body engages the first seal and the second seal. The first seal and the second seal are configured to exert a force toward each other in a direction along a longitudinal axis of the body to tension the body.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A closure assembly for a dispenser, comprising:
a base defining a cavity configured to be in fluid connection with the dispenser, and comprising,
 a recess,
a first seal positioned at one end of the recess, and
a second seal at least partially positioned at an opposing end of the recess; and
a body at least partially positioned in the recess and comprising,
a first end defining a first opening,
an opposing second end pivotally coupled to the body and defining a second opening
wherein the body defines an interior space extending from the first opening to the second opening, wherein the body is configured to pivot in a first direction to define an open position and in a second direction to define a closed position, wherein when the body is in the open position, the body extends along a plane that is parallel to a plane extending along at least one of the first and second seals, and wherein in the closed position, the first seal engages the first end of the body to create a water-tight seal and the second seal engages the second end of the body to create a water-tight seal, and wherein the first seal and the second seal are configured to exert a force toward each other in a direction along a longitudinal axis of the body to tension the body.

2 . The closure assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a lip formed on the body that extends beyond the first end of the body.

3 . The closure assembly of claim 1 , wherein the base further includes an exterior surface comprising a depression adjacent to the first seal.

4 . The closure assembly of claim 1 , wherein the base comprises one or more engagement features configured to interact with one or more complementary engagement features of the dispenser to removeably couple the base to the dispenser.

5 . The closure assembly of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first seal and the second seal are formed with the base as a unitary structure.

6 . The closure assembly of claim 1 , wherein a force required to move the body between the open position and the closed position is greater than a force required to move the body between the closed position and the open position.

7 . The closure assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a lip formed on the body that extends beyond the first end of the body.

         8 . A closure assembly for a dispenser, comprising:
 a base comprising,
 a recess,
a first seal positioned at one end of the recess, and
a second seal at least partially positioned at an opposing end of the recess; and
a body at least partially positioned in the recess and comprising,
 a first end, and
an opposing second end pivotally coupled to the body,
wherein the body defines a shaft extending from the first opening to the second opening, wherein the body is configured to pivot in a first direction to define an open position where the body is in fluid communication with the dispenser, and in a second direction to define a closed position where the first seal engages the first end of the body to create a water-tight seal and the second seal engages the second end of the body to create a water-tight seal, and wherein when the body is in the open position, the body extends along a body plane that is parallel to a plane extending along at least one of the first and second seals.

9 . The closure assembly of claim 8 , wherein in the closed position, the first seal and the second seal are configured to exert a force toward each other in a direction along a longitudinal axis of the body to tension the body.

10 . The closure assembly of claim 8 , further comprising a lip formed on the body that extends beyond the first end of the body.

11 . The closure assembly of claim 8 , wherein the base further includes an exterior surface comprising a depression adjacent to the first seal.

12 . The closure assembly of claim 11 , wherein the depression extends along a plane that intersects the body plane when the body is in the open position.

13 . The closure assembly of claim 8 , wherein the base comprises one or more engagement features configured to interact with one or more complementary engagement features of the dispenser to removeably couple the base to the dispenser.

14 . The closure assembly of claim 8 , wherein at least one of the first seal and the second seal are formed with the base as a unitary structure.

15 . The closure assembly of claim 8 , wherein a force required to move the body between the open position and the closed position is greater than a force required to move the body between the closed position and the open position.

16 . The closure assembly of claim 8 , wherein the base further defines a cavity configured to be in fluid connection with the dispenser.

17 . A method of manufacturing a closure assembly for a dispenser, comprising:
 configuring a base to include,
 a recess,
a first seal positioned at one end of the recess, and
a second seal at least partially positioned at an opposing end of the recess; and
configuring a body to be least partially positioned in the recess and including,
 a first end,
an opposing second end pivotally coupled to the body, and
a passage extending from the first end to the second end,
wherein the body is configured to pivot in a first direction to define an open position where the body is aligned along a vertical axis and the passage is open at the first and second ends, and in a second direction to define a closed position where the first seal engages the first end of the body to create a water-tight seal and the second seal engages the second end of the body to create a water-tight seal, and wherein when the body is in the open position, the body extends along a body plane that is parallel to a plane extending along at least one of the first and second seals.

18 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising structuring the base to include an exterior surface comprising a depression that is adjacent to the first seal.

19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the depression is structured to extend along a plane that intersects the body plane when the body is in the open position.
