Abstract

Medical devices as wells as methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device may include a left atrial appendage device. The left atrial appendage device may include an expandable frame configured to shift between a first configuration and an expanded configuration. A fabric mesh may be disposed along at least a portion of the expandable frame. An anti-thrombogenic coating may be disposed along the fabric mesh.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An occlusive medical device, comprising:
an expandable frame configured to shift between a first configuration and an expanded configuration; a fabric disposed along at least a portion of the expandable frame; wherein the fabric includes a plurality of filaments; and an anti-thrombogenic coating incorporated within the fabric.

2 . The occlusive medical device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of filaments are arranged into a fiber bundle.

3 . The occlusive medical device of claim 2 , wherein the anti-thrombogenic coating is disposed along an interior region of the fiber bundle.

4 . The occlusive medical device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of filaments include polyethylene terephthalate.

5 . The occlusive medical device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of filaments include polyester.

6 . The occlusive medical device of claim 1 , wherein the anti-thrombogenic coating encapsulates at least some of the plurality of filaments.

7 . The occlusive medical device of claim 1 , wherein the anti-thrombogenic coating individually coats each of the plurality of filaments.

8 . The occlusive medical device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of filaments are arranged in a non-woven configuration.

9 . The occlusive medical device of claim 1 , wherein the anti-thrombogenic coating includes a fluoropolymer.

10 . The occlusive medical device of claim 1 , wherein the anti-thrombogenic coating includes polyvinylidene fluoride.

11 . The occlusive medical device of claim 1 , wherein the anti-thrombogenic coating includes a polyvinylidene fluoride copolymer.

         12 . The occlusive medical device of claim 1 , wherein the anti-thrombogenic coating includes poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene).

         13 . The occlusive medical device of claim 1 , wherein the anti-thrombogenic coating includes poly[bis (trifluoroethoxy)phosphazene].

14 . A left atrial appendage device, comprising:
an expandable frame configured to shift between a first configuration and an expanded configuration; a fabric disposed along at least a portion of the expandable frame, the fabric including a fiber bundle; and an anti-thrombogenic coating disposed within the fiber bundle.

15 . The left atrial appendage device of claim 14 , wherein the anti-thrombogenic coating is disposed along an interior region of the fiber bundle.

16 . The left atrial appendage device of claim 14 , wherein the fabric includes polyethylene terephthalate.

17 . The left atrial appendage device of claim 14 , wherein the anti-thrombogenic coating includes poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene).

18 . The left atrial appendage device of claim 14 , wherein the anti-thrombogenic coating includes poly[bis (trifluoroethoxy)phosphazene].

19 . A left atrial appendage device, comprising:
an expandable frame configured to shift between a first configuration and an expanded configuration; an occlusive member disposed along at least a portion of the expandable frame, the occlusive member including a fiber bundle that includes one or more filaments; and an anti-thrombogenic coating disposed on the occlusive member, the anti-thrombogenic coating encapsulating at least some of the one or more filaments.

20 . The left atrial appendage device of claim 19 , wherein the anti-thrombogenic coating encapsulates all of the one or more filaments.
