Abstract
An exerciser has a frame, a driving assembly, a damping assembly, and a linkage assembly. The frame has a base and a rear supporting rod. The driving assembly is mounted on the frame and has two swinging rods, two sprockets, two chains, and two resilient members. The swinging rods are connected to the rear supporting rod. The two sprockets are mounted rotatably on the rear supporting rod. The two chains are respectively engaged with the two sprockets. The two resilient members are connected respectively to the chains. The damping assembly is mounted on the rear supporting rod and is connected to the driving assembly to provide a damping effect to the two sprockets. The linkage assembly is connected between the base of the frame and the two swinging rods to allow the two swinging rod to respectively swing in reverse directions.

1 . An exerciser comprising:
a frame having
a base;
a front supporting rod mounted on a front end of the base;
a rear supporting rod mounted on the base; and
a grip assembly mounted on the front supporting rod;
a driving assembly mounted on the frame and comprising
two swinging rods connected swingably to two sides of the rear supporting rod respectively;
two pedals mounted respectively on the two swinging rods;
two sprockets mounted rotatably on the two sides of the rear supporting rod respectively;
two chains respectively mounted around and engaged with the two sprockets, and each chain having a first end connected to one of the swinging rods to allow the sprockets to be rotated via the transmission of the chains while the swinging rods being swinging and a second end; and
two resilient members connected respectively to the chains, and each resilient member having two ends connected respectively to the second end of a corresponding one of the chains and the base of the frame;
a damping assembly mounted on the rear supporting rod and connected to the driving assembly to provide a damping effect to the two sprockets; and a linkage assembly connected between the base of the frame and the two swinging rods to allow the two swinging rod to respectively swing in reverse directions.
2 . The exerciser as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the frame further comprises a seat mounted on a top of the rear supporting rod.
3 . The exerciser as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the frame further comprises a damping controller mounted on the front supporting rod.
4 . The exerciser as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the two resilient members are springs.
5 . The exerciser as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the driving assembly further comprises two guiding wheels mounted rotatably on the two swinging rods respectively and engaged respectively with the chains to limit expansion directions of the resilient members.
6 . The exerciser as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the damping assembly comprises
a first pulley mounted rotatably on the rear supporting rod and being co-axial with and driven by the two sprockets to be rotated in unidirectional by the sprockets; a second pulley mounted rotatably on the rear supporting rod and being located under the first pulley; a first transmission wheel mounted co-axially with the second pulley; a damping pulley mounted rotatably on the rear supporting rod and being located under the second pulley; a second transmission wheel mounted co-axially with the damping pulley; a first belt mounted around the first pulley and the first transmission wheel; and a second belt mounted around the second pulley and the second transmission wheel.
7 . The exerciser as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the damping assembly further comprises
two tension wheels abutting respectively against the first and second belts; two arms connected to the rear supporting rod, wherein the two tension wheels are mounted respectively on the two aims; and two resilient elements connected respectively to the arms to provide a force to the tension wheels for abutting against the first and second belts.
8 . The exerciser as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the linkage assembly comprises
two pivotal arms connected pivotally to the base of the frame; a connection member connected to the pivotal arms to allow that while one of the pivotal arms is pivoted upward, and the other pivotal arm is pivoted downward; two levers, each having a top end connected pivotally to one of the two swinging rod and a bottom end connected pivotally to a corresponding one of the two pivotal arms.
9 . The exerciser as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the driving assembly further comprises two blocks mounted respectively on the two sides of the rear supporting rod to selectively abut against the two swinging rods respectively.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
