Abstract
A roll-dispensed stock container is provided. The roll-dispensed stock container has a recessed cutting track and can be assembled by computer aided manufacturing processes.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A container for roll-dispensed stock, comprising:
a container body forming an enclosure to receive a roll of roll-dispensed stock; a support wall adjacent to an opening in the container body for dispensing roll-dispensed stock; an elongated slot having a length and a width, the slot extending through the support wall and along a length thereof; a track positioned within the elongated slot, the track including: i) a rail having a horizontal bottom wall and first and second vertical walls extending from the bottom wall, the rail sized to the width of the slot; ii) first and second exterior flanges extending from respective upper edges of the first and second vertical walls, the first and second exterior flanges extending away from a center of the rail; and iii) first and second interior flanges extending from the respective upper edges of the first and second vertical walls, the first and second interior flanges extending toward the center of the rail; a cutter assembly positioned within the track, the cutter assembly including a base, a blade housing, and a blade; and the first and second exterior flanges bearing on the support wall and supporting the rail within the elongated slot and the first and second interior flanges retaining the base of the cutter assembly within the rail and below the support wall.
2 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the first and second vertical walls are planar.
3 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the first and second exterior flanges extend perpendicularly from the respective first and second vertical walls.
4 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the first and second interior flanges extend perpendicularly from the respective first and second vertical walls.
5 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the first vertical wall, the first exterior flange, and the first interior flange form a first “T” junction, and the second vertical wall, the second exterior flange, and the second interior flange form a second “T” junction.
6 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the first exterior flange extends in a direction opposite to the first interior flange and the second exterior flange extends in a direction opposite to the second interior flange.
7 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the first and second exterior flanges and the first and second interior flanges are coplanar.
8 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the first exterior flange and the first interior flange extend on respective exterior and interior sides of the first vertical wall, and the second exterior flange and the second interior flange extend on respective exterior and interior sides of the second vertical wall.
9 . The container of claim 1 , comprising a friction fit between interior edges of the elongated slot and the first and second vertical walls of the track.
10 . The container of claim 1 , comprising an adhesive applied between the first and second exterior flanges and the support wall.
11 . A container for roll-dispensed stock, comprising:
a container body including a front wall, a rear wall, a bottom wall, and first and second side walls forming an enclosure to receive a roll of roll-dispensed stock, the rear wall having a greater height than the front wall; a support wall joined to a top edge of the front wall and disposed at an angle thereto, an upper edge of the support wall and a top edges of the rear and side walls defining an opening in the container body for dispensing roll-dispensed stock; an elongated slot, having a length and a width, the slot extending through the support wall and along a length thereof; a track positioned within the elongated slot, the track including: i) a rail having a bottom wall and first and second planar vertical walls extending from the bottom wall, the rail sized to the width of the slot; and ii) first and second flanges extending away from the first and second vertical walls, the first and second flanges positioned adjacent to upper edges of the first and second vertical walls, the first and second flanges bear on the support wall, the first and second flanges support the rail within the elongated slot, the rail recessed within the container body; and a cutter assembly positioned within the track, the cutter assembly including a base, a blade housing, and a blade, the base slidably retained within the rail and below the support wall.
12 . The container of claim 11 , wherein the first and second vertical walls are planar.
13 . The container of claim 11 , wherein the first and second exterior flanges extend perpendicularly from the respective first and second vertical walls.
14 . The container of claim 11 , wherein the first and second interior flanges extend perpendicularly from the respective first and second vertical walls.
15 . The container of claim 11 , wherein the first vertical wall, the first exterior flange, and the first interior flange form a first “T” junction, and the second vertical wall, the second exterior flange, and the second interior flange form a second “T” junction.
16 . The container of claim 11 , wherein the first exterior flange extends in a direction opposite to the first interior flange and the second exterior flange extends in a direction opposite to the second interior flange.
17 . The container of claim 11 , wherein the first and second exterior flanges and the first and second interior flanges are coplanar.
18 . The container of claim 11 , wherein the first exterior flange and the first interior flange extend on respective exterior and interior sides of the first vertical wall, and the second exterior flange and the second interior flange extend on respective exterior and interior sides of the second vertical wall.
19 . The container of claim 11 , comprising a friction fit between interior edges of the elongated slot and the first and second vertical walls of the track.
20 . The container of claim 11 , comprising an adhesive applied between the first and second exterior flanges and the support wall.Cited by (0)
