Abstract
A two-part cemetery vase includes a vase proper and a mounting stand coupled to the vase proper.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A two-part cemetery vase comprising:
a vase proper; and a mounting stand coupled to the vase proper.
2 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 1 , wherein the vase proper and the mounting stand are both constructed of an injection molded plastic.
3 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 1 , wherein one of the vase proper and the mounting stand includes a female portion and the other of the vase proper and the mounting stand includes a male portion for insertion into the female portion.
4 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 3 , wherein the vase proper and the mounting stand are press-fit together in an axial direction.
5 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 1 , wherein the mounting stand includes an upper cylindrical portion and the vase proper includes a lower opening axially receiving the upper cylindrical portion.
6 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 5 , wherein a lower end of the upper cylindrical portion of the mounting stand is closed by a radially extending disk.
7 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 6 , wherein the radially extending disk includes a plurality of holes axially extending therethrough.
8 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 1 , wherein the vase is configurable to a first, use orientation and a second, shipping orientation, such that in the second orientation, the vase proper is nested within the spikes of the mounting stand to effectively reduce an axial length of the vase.
9 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 5 , wherein the connection portion and the vase proper are connected in a threaded manner.
10 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 1 , wherein one of the vase proper and the mounting stand includes a female thread and the other of the vase proper and the mounting stand includes a male thread for engaging the female portion.
11 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 1 , wherein one of the vase proper and the mounting stand includes a flange and the other of the vase proper and the mounting stand includes a plurality of detents cooperating with the flange to couple the vase proper and the mounting stand.
12 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 11 , wherein the flange is formed about a lower end of the vase proper and at least partially extends spirally about the vase proper.
13 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 12 , wherein vase proper is axially inserted into a cylindrical opening defined by the mounting stand and the vase proper is rotated relative to the mounting stand to engage the flange with the plurality of detents in a threaded manner.
14 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 5 , wherein the upper cylindrical portion of the mounting stand includes a cylindrical sidewall and upper ends of the spikes intersect the cylindrical sidewall and extend into the opening of the cylindrical portion.
15 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 14 , wherein inner side of each upper end defines an arcuate face abutting the vase proper and cooperating with the vase proper to center the vase proper within the opening.
16 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 15 , wherein the connection portion further includes a plurality of detents that inwardly extend into the opening and cooperate with a flange formed on or otherwise carried at a bottom of the vase proper to maintain a connection between the mounting stand and the vase proper.
17 . The two-part cemetery vase of claim 16 , wherein flange extends spirally around at least a portion of the vase proper and engages the detents in a threaded manner.
18 . A method of assembling the two-part cemetery vase of claim 5 , the method comprising configuring the vase in a first orientation by inserting a lower end of the vase proper into the upper cylindrical portion of the mounting stand and rotating the vase proper relative to the mounting stand.
19 . The method of assembling the two-part cemetery vase of claim 18 , the method further comprising configuring the vase in a second, shipping orientation by nesting the vase proper at least partially within axially extending spikes of the mounting portion to effectively reduce a length of the vase.
20 . A two-part cemetery vase comprising:
a vase proper; and a mounting stand, the mounting stand including a connection portion adapted to interface with the vase proper, the connection portion having a cylindrical sidewall defining a female opening receiving a male portion defined at the bottom of the vase proper, the connection portion closed at a lower end by a circular disk, the disk extending in a radial direction and formed with a plurality of holes axially extending there through for the drainage of water, the mounting stand including a lower portion defined by a plurality of downwardly extending spikes, upper ends of the spikes intersecting the cylindrical sidewall of the connection portion, an inner side of each upper end may defining an arcuate face abutting the vase proper and cooperating with the vase proper to center the vase proper within the opening, the connection portion further including a plurality of detents that inwardly extend into the opening, the detents cooperating with a flange formed the bottom of the vase proper to maintain a connection between the mounting stand and the vase proper, the flange extending spirally around at least a portion of the vase proper, the vase proper inserted into the female opening of the connection portion and rotated relative to the mounting stand to couple the vase proper and the mounting stand in a threaded manner; wherein the vase proper and the mounting stand are both be formed of injection molded plastic.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
