Abstract

Improved breast prostheses, methods of making breast prostheses, and methods of treatment using such breast prostheses are described.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An implantable prosthesis prepared by a method comprising:
preparing a shell of a breast implant or tissue expander; providing one or more samples of graft material sized and shaped to conform to a portion of a surface of the breast implant or tissue expander; attaching the graft material to the shell of the breast implant or tissue expander prior to curing the shell of the breast implant or tissue expander; curing the shell of the breast implant or tissue expander and the graft material; and removing the graft material from the breast implant or tissue expander after the curing step.

2 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the graft material is an acellular tissue matrix.

3 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 2 , wherein the shell of the breast implant or tissue expander and the acellular tissue matrix are cured such that the curing temperature does not reach a temperature greater than 30° C.

4 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 2 , wherein the shell of the breast implant or tissue expander and the acellular tissue matrix are cured such that the curing temperature does not exceed 25° C.

5 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the graft material is an adipose extracellular tissue matrix that has been treated to produce a three-dimensional porous, or sponge-like material.

6 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 5 , wherein the shell of the breast material or tissue expander and the adipose extracellular tissue matrix are cured at a temperature between 70° C. to 120° C.

7 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 5 , wherein the shell of the breast material or tissue expander and the adipose extracellular tissue matrix are cured at a temperature between 80° C. to 110° C.

8 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 5 , wherein the shell of the breast material or tissue expander and the adipose extracellular tissue matrix are cured at 100° C.

9 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the graft material is removed from the breast implant or tissue expander after the curing step.

10 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the tissue expander or breast implant comprises a saline filled implant.

11 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the tissue expander or breast implant comprises a silicone filled implant.

12 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the graft material comprises a dermal tissue matrix.

13 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the graft material comprises an adipose tissue matrix.

14 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the graft material comprises a porcine tissue matrix.

15 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the graft material comprises medical grade silicon.

16 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the graft material comprises autologous tissue.

17 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the graft material comprises cadaveric human tissue.

18 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the graft material comprises a single-layered sheet of tissue.

19 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the graft material comprises a multi-layered sheet of tissue.

20 . The implantable prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the tissue expander or breast implant comprises silicone.
